We may be blessed with Mufti Ebrahim Desai’s participation on SF in the form of live bayans followed by Q&A sessions. Mufti Ebrahim (DB) will conduct live bayans once a month and Sunniforum members will have the opportunity to pose their questions which will be answered by the respected mufti sahib. Before we proceed, we’d like to gauge the level of interest and participation from the SF community.

My sons are asking if the Mufti will be speaking in Arabic or English as they only speak those languages

This opportunity should be seized with both hands. Inshallah it will take place. Timing is going to be the main issue. UK should be ok in terms of time as we have only 1-2 hours difference with SA depending on summer/winter time. Weekday would be the best option imo. Inshallah this will take place and the once a month option seems perfect.

Can I make one suggestion,which I think might increase participation. Mufti sahib could,on occasions, allow the listeners to vote for a topic by giving us a option to select from a list of say 5 options. and then the topic for that month would be on that voted option.

Mufti Saheb's first language is english and all his bayans are in english too.

the idea is to keep it for the masses, NOT the ulama. So he will probably choose some Islahi topic or some contemporary topic and give a short discourse on that. while he gives the discourse anyone can ask questions on that topic and inshAllah we hope for it to be beneficial

Inshallah I am all for it, this is an oppurtunity not to be missed. I think a months interval sounds good. If we can fix it so somehow people in North America can listen live and ask questions that would be great.

That's some great news!
I won't be able to assist the live sessions but would listen the recorded sessions with joy.
Also make sure no outsider (troublemaker) infiltrates the forum to disrespect the Mufti.

In Paltalk you could ban users from typing during the lesson and then free them for questions. There definitely should be guidelines for the Q&A session, otherwise it will easily go out of the hand.

We are still discussing what time the sessions will be as we need to take into consideration members from all continents

It would be marvelous if it starts, . The thing that probably should be taken into consideration is the time zone difference. One sunniforum user may listen after thuhr salah and the other in tahajjud.

thats why we are hoping to elevate the status of all the listeners to a sufi maqam beyond the time, and deliver the bayan there.

We will offcourse have to make some compromise. but once we see the demand, then perhaps work on workable time
