You see many people these days being very proud of their lineage. If one travels to the various mazhars of auliya in the arab and indopak world one shall see the descendents of big saints and ulema who do not have an itom of what their ancestors had but they have taken on the role of their illustrious ancestors.
Bandae ishq shudi tarke nasab kun jami Ke daree raah fulan ibne fulan cheeze naist O jami be a slave of ishq (love) and leave your shajara (chain) of ancestors. In this field son of fulan (so and so) and son of fulan (so and so) does not work. This is a severe warning for those who feel very proud of their ancestors even though they themselves are far from the path. |

[QUOTE=London786;684519]mastam hazrat. You should post some taswuff related stuff on the forum bro.[/QUOT]
Word "mastam",reminded me of something from Shaikh Najmuddin Kubra, but i will leave its English translation to either respected shaikh Maripat or Brother dr76 : "Dar chuneen hairat ke man daram che goyam wasfe khwesh Aatesham,Khakam,Naseemam,Aab o Darya cheestam?" "In this confusion which i have about Me,In what way should i introduce myself?Fire.earth.air.water? Who am I?" -------- Aaqelqm, deewana am,andar firaqam ya wisal Nestam,Hastam,na bar ja yam,na beja cheestam? "Wise?Crazy? Away from my beloved or very close to him? Do i exist or don,t i? Do i have a place or i am without a place ? What am I?" --------- Dar yake shabnam hazaran koh o sehra ein ajeeb, Shabnamam,ya sahelam,ya koho Darya cheestam? "What a strange thing ! In one drop of water, there are thousands of hills and deserts. Am i a drop of water or shore or a hill or river. Who am I ? ----------- Be nishani shud nishano be zubani shud zuban Be nishan o be zuban, goya wa beena cheestam? "My lack of identity has become my identity...and my lack of expression has become an expression in itself.I am observing and speaking without a name and expression. What am I? ------------ Dostanam Najme khwarzami hameen khwahande man Wala o madhosho heran nachiyam ya cheestam? I have difficulty finding proper English words here, pls help ! |

![]() More than ten years ago I filled up the form to apply for a Diploma in Persian. The form is still in my possession because a senior (and a former teacher of mine) made a very pungent remark. So my Persian abilities are at the same level as they were earlier. In short we are at the same level. I suppose we have to bank upon brother Matam for our Persian needs. (I hope it does not have other meaning-a very likely possibility!) Also brother Abu Musa Khurasani should be able to help us. Let us pull him into the equation. Wassalam |

mastam hazrat. You should post some taswuff related stuff on the forum bro.[/QUOT] ![]() I a video linked by Dr.ati Dr Israr Ahmed also recited something in the same bahar-o-radeef and I was wondering how to get the meaning. So brother this sinner to is a seeker only. Finally the imagery used in above ghazal is very-very powerful. Moreover it is describing a state of bafflement (hopefully to be followed by enlightenment). Because of this it might not be very conducive to the journey of those people who have not yet reached an appreciable level of strength in their spiritual health. In fact in my view this illustrates as to why people warn us not to indulge in mysticism unnecessarily (at never without a guide). Wassalam |
