Default Tolerance towards other faiths

A funeral procession passed in front of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) and he stood up. When he was told by the people that it was the coffin of a jew, he said, "Was he not a human being?"

(Bukhari Book #23, Hadith #399) {L}

It seems you rich Indians are really into all this inter-faith type of things (the same, of course, applies to the rich pakistanis like Dr. Tahir etc)

You might want to check Fath al-Bari' out, where the Imam mentions the hadith where the messenger salla Llahu 'alayhi wa alihi wa sallam explicitly states that this was "only out of respect for the One who siezes the souls".

what do you believe are the implications of this hadeeth? This discussion is currently quite vague. If you are implying we should respect human beings etc then I dont think anyone disagrees. But if you are implying things that contradict the shariah like tahrir ul qadris "interfaith" shenanigans then thats a different matter

Is he human being ? Before telling me view of one scholar.. you might want to check views of many other scholars and give value to difference of opinion

I am sure you are a Pakistani.. because i didn't come across anyone else speaking so arrogantly with others..

Brother London, at least he showed his true colours Just because I criticized him, he accused me of being a Pakistani, because, of course, no other people "speak so arrogantly"! LOL

You quote the scholars, I am quoting the same hadith with a different chain:

ونحوه لأحمد من حديث أبي موسى ، ولأحمد ، وابن حبان ، والحاكم من حديث عبد الله بن عمرو مرفوعا : إنما تقومون إعظاما للذي يقبض النفوس . ولفظ ابن حبان : إعظاما لله الذي يقبض الأرواح
