Default Dog Experience

Brother Abu Khadija is still disturbed about it.
So will be you-whenever you'll remember this incident.
Such a heart warming kiddy face-a face you do not want to associate with death.

And coming to a smaller irritation-have you experienced your host's dog barking at you, you trying to keep your composure and your host nonchalantly issuing calming instructions to his dog?

This sinner has decided not to visit such nice people any more. And if they complain the intention is to tell them the truth. It is their problem and not the other way round.

Wa alaykum salaam.

Brother, I have just signed up to this forum to respond to your thread (I found it in my traffic sources on my Blogs control panel.)
Firstly, jazakaAllahu kheyr for this thread and for linking to me. I've been blogging for the love of it for months, and I have actually been very surprised by every hit I recieve.

This story, I have no clue why it's been so close to my heart since I saw it on the news for the first time. The first part for me may be that it was localish to me, the second is probably that I was dumbfounded that owner negligence to attacks by dangerous dogs for so long has been a slap on the wrist in my state - and I think the third reason is a much more human one. I guess maybe empathy for her family, and loved ones and the knowledge that subhan'Allah something just as shocking could just as easily happen in any of our family circles and we really can't comprehend how her family must be coping, even now, almost two months on.

May Allah (swt) reward, protect and continue to guide you brother. Ameen.

JazakaAllahu kheyr.
Wasalaam.
Abu Khadijah.

100 years ago, pitbulls were family dogs. Humans bred them to be fighting dogs. They did the same to German Shepherds, Dobbermans, etc.

When will we stop blaming the dogs and start blaming humans?

Of course these are the people only who should be blamed.

I was walking down a street and a dog with his owner was walking towards me. We were getting very close to each other, and I could see the dog trying to advance towards me. I did not want to run because I knew the dog would get even more compelled to run after me so I continued walking. The dog was so strong (the report said he was 106 lbs) that he pulled his owner to such a degree that his owner slipped and the dog quickly bit my leg. SubhanAllah that 1 bite caused a 3 inch by 1 inch gash and 20 stitches to fix. Stories like this make me so angry because if the owner was even half responsible none of this would have happened. It is not worth being anywhere near someone who owns these type of dogs, and if I see a dog coming down the street now I just go on the opposite side, not necessarily because of the dog, but how the owner has trained (or lack thereof) the dog.
