"The alleged victims, now in their 40s and 50s, say they secretly carried this burden until last year. Then, after watching the Catholic sexual abuse scandal unfold on satellite television, 28 men from the two villages decided to break their silence.

"We couldn't tell anyone [before] because no one would believe us," said Kobuk, one of the few St. Michael Eskimos who is still a Catholic. He wears a homemade rosary around his neck, the blue beads held together by string from a fishing net.

"He worked for God, and I was just an Eskimo child."

sometimes i wonder how may decades, centuries, the catholic church has been engaging in these activities and what this means about the history of catholic europe...i.e. are pretty much all the catholics around us today the descendants of boys who were molested/raped by clergy? it's definitely a frightening thought.

funny how despite all these signs of the "passions" of the clergy being missplaced, or the countless illegitimate children of bishops and popes and still the clergy do not allow marriage! seriously you'd think if they were allowed to get married and lead decent lives (i.e. not being denied a god-given need) they wouldn't be engaging in these crimes.

Since Jesus was fatherless they want their children to be so albeit illegitimate
