Interestingly his father is Syrian and from a Muslim background (not sure if the father is himself) however Jobs was put up for adoption as his grandfather (American) did not approve of a Syrian marrying his daughter so the child was taken in by another family. The father and son never met.

What type of a question is this? Men are judged on their external actions not their internal. On all external appearances he was a kaafir, acted like a kaafir and died like a kaafir. Allah Ta'ala has also caused him to be buried as a non muslim.

His actions have promoted the spreading of music and zina which he actively encouraged.

But what is wrong with the technology he invented? Many ulema are using iphones and ipads. They are muttaqi ulema who use it for reading books and listening to Qur'an and lectures. Please don't give stupid arguments.

if there was no praising of steve jobs in the media then his dying would have passed without any significance even amongst the non-muslims.

all his later life michael jackson was despised as a freak and child molester. the media used to slauhter him. but when he died the media was all over him and praising his life. so then the people forget how much they hated him and instead even muslims went so far as to try and find the smallest of detail that may even remotely show that he might have been a muslim.

reminds me a lot of the book '1985' by orwells. the book is about a guy called winston smith. smith works in the 'ministry of truth', which is in fact the ministry of lies. his job is to manipulate the minds of the people by using the media to such an extent that when the government sends out contradicting propaganda and lies, the people accept it as if it has always been this way and do not question the new propaganda which is completely opposite of the old propaganda.

I think muslims just follow the route of kuffar. If they praise someone, muslims too start praising the person. Now come to the praise of the martyr be it the Sheikh or anyone, we will keep queit bcos kuffar won't like us praising our heroes. Only if we realize our honor lies in Islam and have the azmat of Prophets (peace be on all of them), the noble companions (RA), martyrs and pious people in our hearts, we will progress. Till then this is how we will lower ourselves. Let Allah SWT forgive us and guide us. Amin
