Default How a woman should walk
Are there any direct examples in the Qurʾān and Sunnah that describe how a woman should carry herself, her body language, posture when she is walking? Should she be strong and confident in going about her business, like Khadijah? Should she be shy and hunched over (with rounded back and shoulders bent forward)?

By the way how do you know how Khadijah RAD behaved. There is a danger of projecting current mode of behaviour on people of the past.
SPOT ON.

The figure of Hadrat Khadijah is being exploited by modernists, reformists and feminist (especially her life before Rasulullah receiving Wahi!) to further their views..

Check out the tafsir of al-Ahzab verses 32 and 33, preferably from Tafheem al-Qur'an of Mawdudi.

Thanks for the help, everyone! I just figured since she was a powerful and independent businesswoman, she must have been able to handle herself with confidence in such situations and transactions. I like what you said about not drawing unwarranted attention. That's a good guideline. Different situations may call for different types of body language, but in the end, the goal is to be as modest as possible in the circumstances.

Thanks. I've only been a Muslim for under 2 months, and I grew up in an extremely individualistic, secular culture. I have a lot of learning to do.

Keep the Muqallid obsession away. Dropping the Madhhab vs non-Madhhab isn't wise on an individual that has only had Imaan for under 2 months.

Insha'Allah wgirl, we will be patient with you. Sabr is a big pillar of our faith as you know.

Assalamu Alaikum sister,

Why don't you join the sister's section on the forum? I think you can apply since one only needs 75 meaningful posts to apply.

Wow masha'Allah!

Please bear patience with us, and sorry for having been hard on you sometimes, we didn't know you were so "young" in Islam!

May Allah protect you and grant you beneficial knowledge.

The brother is probably saying Insha'Allah for her guidance.

Alhamdu li Llah!

It's great to see someone so new yet with such a mature attitude towards the noble shari'ah and Islam! May Allah increase her in all good!

To be honest, it would be nice if some of the born-Muslims, particularly those who consider themselves 'educated' and 'enlightened', had the same attitude.
