Default Holding grudges!
Hope everybody is doing well, inshaAllah.

A reminder to myself first and everybody else here.

We all come from different backgrounds and different cultures but the one thing that binds us all together is Islam. Islam encourages muslims to be good to each other, love each other for the sake of Allah and to free our hearts of all malice, spite and envy.

Especially on forums when emotions are running high we make comments which are not liked by all. We tend to hold grudges against others forever for those comments. Even in real life, we tend to remember the date and time and incident when so and so said so and so, and hold on it even if that person is good to them otherwise.

Here is a hadith..

Abu Hurayrah narrated that the Messenger (peace be upon him) said:

"The gates of Paradise will be opened on Monday and on Thursdays, and every servant [of Allah] who associates nothing with Allah will be forgiven, except for the man who has a grudge against his brother. [About them] it will be said, 'Delay these two until they are reconciled. Delay these two until they are reconciled. Delay these two until they are reconciled.'" [Muslim, Maalik, Abu Dawood]

Let's forgive each other for the sake of Allah. I sincerely ask for forgiveness if I have hurt anybody here and request your duas.

This is something that is very difficult for most of us. But we don't often realize how big a problem it is.

Nice thread
Sometimes, from our deep heart (without any bad intention) we try our very best to make x person(on this forum/as well as outside) to make them correct for their good only, but they take it so seriously and they try to make hurt us by using those words only. Is the result of doing naseehah that much painful and hurtful?

Yes I have forgive and forget xyz. We all are brothers and sisters

When we say bro or sis it's not blood relation but our muslim brotherhood.

As per your other question, I don't have the answer but from my understanding the hadith refers to our muslim brothers/sisters. Allahu alam. Although I don't think it would be wise to hold grudges against non-muslims also when one can forgive them.

As for the last question, I hope someone qualified can help you.
