You mention you are in Zambia so you would be praying toward NNE. The simplest way would be to find out where's North and then use your discretion until you find a solid answer. As long as you face qiblah within a forty five degrees margin of error then your salaah will be correct.

Lusaka Qiblah
is 16 degrees from North clockwise.

Unza's quite small, the chances of one of those ppl being on this forum are quite slim..second option will be best for you inshallah..asr and magrib?..benji..all that kind of hassle to make sure you read your salaah, when you can read it at home? all that effort dunya haroo..?and at magrib time?

Well yah my course is a parallel course so i gotta go from 2 in the noon till 8:30 at night.its way better than doing a' levels and joining unza.the mahol at Springfields is really bad.i went there for 2 days wallah the non muslims were looking more decent than most muslims!
Bro, ur veiw of 'dunya haroo' is soo like layman thinking.probably living here so leme just remind u of the desperate need of muslim female doctors.so many of our women have to be attended by female kafirah doctors.what is their halat of their purdah then??
A hadith(stte) verily every action is dependant on its intention.
I think my intentions are noble enough for me to pursue my course.i intend to give da'wah at unza and to help the family i.e creation of Allah.
By the way nice to meet a guju bhai!

Think of it as lay man thinking if you may.

I'm from Zambia, studied and now working in South Africa. I studied at varsity for 5 years.
In Zambia, mashallah, the deeni mahol is something to cherish. Ive read your posts and can see alhamdullilah that you are deeni inclined, and for you to be in that kind of environment and studying to become a doctor is concerning.

Just a bit of advice inshallah..

Girls today, from Zambia and parents themselves want their daughters to study. There's nothing wrong with that. Whilst your intentions may be noble however whilst pursuing their studies, I can guarantee you that situations will arise which will require you to make a decision which could compromise your iman. When you're doing your internship, you are going to have to deal with males, a male will come shake your hand, or you will busy in a lecture and your magrib will pass by(these are just a few examples). Yes, you could be the unique one who, who leaves uni with their iman in the same condition as the day they entered it or maybe your iman may even increase. However, given the conditions, are you really going to take chances with your iman ? Do you think a person who sets foot into a lion’s den will come out untouched?

Given the status ALLAH (SWT) has given women, is all this really worth it?.
By all means, if you can study in a mahol in an environment where there are absolutely no influences on your iman, go for it.

From a shariah and sunnah point of view, and looking at the role of a woman, you're going to have to get married one day, marriage completes half your iman. Are you going to practise medicine when you’re married, and fulfil all the demands that come with marriage at the same time? Working and at the same time, bringing up children, spending time with your husband?
It’s always wise to think ahead, as that time is not far off.

ALLAH (SWT) has kept honour, respect and ultimate success in the efforts of deen. That is the best pursuit of knowledge a girl can strive for. Look at Sabrina apa and other examples.

Make maaf if anything I said upset you...Like I said earlier, the concern is that because youre from zed and basically apra wara

Dua maa kaas yaad inshallah..

Asalms i really really appreciate ur concern and advice.ur post has made me put on my thinking cap seriously.but the thinking ends when i think what i should do now. I have taken soo many peoples opinions.my parents want me to do it.my family has no problem with it(and shukr, i come from a very deeni inclined family).my teachers at Licef were my boosters.Sabiha apa didn't tell me anything(i go to her madrash).
My family says if mufti roked's sister could do it ,why Cant i?
I think i have the same mindset.
But frankly speaking, at the end of it all, I JUST CANT GO BACK.i cant do anything about it now..funny but thats how it is.. I feel inshallah i'l cope with my iman high by going madrasah and my shaykh's duas.but to some extent i do feel ke my iman is at stake.wat u think and could i know ur experience of varsity if u dont mind?JAZAKUMULLAH SO MUCH.

I could go and and on giving examples..what is important is to keep going to madrassah so that you make double the effort on your iman to counter the influences you will definitely be facing throughout your years at uni. And if you will indeed choose to follow through with becoming a doctor, change your intention. That you will first be a daa'iyah and then a doctor. Keep your profession secondary and go to the greatest of lengths to make sure that this remains so. And if you can, join a 3 days masturaat jamaat every so often, providing you have a mahram obviously.

I know what u say is absolute haq but question is ke how is it possible to have ur studies especially something so intense like medicine Secondary??i have intended to continue madrasah and with regards to that i did make mashwara with apa.she was happy i'l write my exams.i got my acceptance letter yesterday n the whole world's excited for me.i went uni today.the world just stares at me..and im in one hell (dnt mind) of a fix.all sort of questions brimming.seriously dont know what to do.one half's telling me ke since i have the capability and ability plus family approval n support i should do it.other half thinking like u..my shaykh is also unreachable at the moment so guess will have to make mashwara with my Allah...shaykh wasn't too happy but since i'm set 4 it he says he'l make dua and i should stay away from sins.
ONE THING: my experience wif unza tells me ke no1z really interested in talking to me.there are next to nothing waraas there..so dont u think most of the dilemma is sorted out.and here unmarried girls cant go for jamat even wif mahrams but alhmdlh i never miss my saturdy ta'lim and home ta'lim.chalo gtg 2mro my cuz's wedding cooking at home!! make maaf 4 wasting ur pious time.kindly remember me graciously and abundantly in ur pious duas.jumuah mubarak.

mashwera..and istikhara

...as you probably did mashwera with your family...what was the outcome of your istikhara?..

Aaya, Cape Town ijtima gehlo, ne bayaan hum breene..I sometimes think should i really have taken all that time studying..and now working demands so much of my time..when you come from back from jamaat or ijtima..that motivation for work is soo not there..

But yeah...inshallah...if you do eventually settle on the doctor route at unza...ensure that your salaah is never compromised, and keep up the istiqamah with taleem and madrassah..

Assalamualaikum w.w.

Firstly, my advise is that if you have already made up your mind to go to Uni, then don't try and substantiate it from an Islamic point perspective.
The Shari'ah is very clear cut regarding this issue. You know it at the back of your mind. Don't try and substantiate it by saying that you made istikharah or Mol. Tariq Jameel said it, etc. You know yourself that he didn't mean that a woman can come out of the environment of her home and go in to an environment where she will be interacting with ghair mahram men. With such logic, a person can do anything he pleases even if it violates the Shari'ah as long as he gives his chilla or four months regularly!

Furthermore, Waraas are not the only "males" in the world who a woman cannot interact with. Your thinking is a reflection of how most women in Zambia think i.e. the only person one should have Hayaa with is the moulana with a big beard!

Also, do not use Mufti Roked as your proof. It is his sister going to uni, not his daughter. He has no jurisdiction over the actions of his sister. Furthermore, he is not a Nabi who's actions constitute Deen. He is a human being just like any of us. All human beings are sinners. When he commits a sin, this does not mean that it is permissible. Even Maulana Zulfiqar's actions cannot be taken as Deen. This a great misconception in the minds of people.

The argument that there is a need for female Muslim doctors in our community does not hold any water. Till today, there are many muslim females who have gone to uni to study. Currently I cannot think of any whatsoever in our community who is directly benefiting the community through their education. Even in South Africa, it a known fact that female Muslim gynacologists charge the highest fees with the result that many muslims cannot even afford their services.

Therefore, if you want to study, then continue doing so. However, do not substantiate it using lame proofs. For example, throughout this thread you have been chatting to some guy you don't even know. What is your proof to substantiate that?

Jazakumullah
