Isnt Shaykh Nazim a bit controversial he seems to be under constant attack by Ahbash & Salafi's

That wasn't bay`ah of tariqah, I don't think. Habib Abu Bakr al-`Adani did the same, but they still give out the ba `alawi tariqah.

Well ulema tend to take baya of baraka they never really have ijazatul mutlaq or the asrar that is passed from one shaykh to another. But Imam haddad mentions when you find a shaykh of fath to renew your baya and submit yourselves to him. He mentioned that the shaykh of ilm and tarbiyah are not ones to be considered real mashaikh but only that of Fath. Besides in tariqa there is a saying a wife doesn't have 2 husbands!

im sure its just for barakah, we know who is Habib Ali's sheikh. as far as proper baya goes I think there are only 3 shuyukh that the ba alawis will go to. & I dont think they would go anywhere. I mean the cloak of sh Abdul Qadir Jalani that was passed down from teacher to student is now in Tarim. & they have it for more than 500 years. if you want a strong connection then the ba alawi way is the best, you have two chains- one via sh Abdul Qadir Jailani & the other through the blood line of the Ba alawi sadaat

I remember for some years now a sheikh from Morocco did baya with sheikh Nazim and some people were thinking that it was a proper baya like a student with his master; I asked myself the son of this sheikh and he told me that it is common when a sheikh visit another one to do baya for the blessing. I don't know now about sheikh Ali al Jifri and sheikh Nazim but I think that the best is to ask some reliable persons from both turuq before saying this and this without having the right information. We can see how people propagate informations and on the web, it is going very quickly.

Isn't Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani from the sadaat? Can you post the Ba alawi Sadaat silsilah

he is from the family of Nabi SAWS as the Ba Alawis but from different lines. & I think he was around long before the ba Alawis, only after the grandson of Imam Muhajir.

Habib Ali's shaykh in Suluk is Habib Umar, and this is at the order of Habib Abdul Qader Al-Saqqaf.
It is clear that he asked for ijaza li adh-dhikr for tabarruk, there wasn't even any bayah in the video.

Barakah? The one who claimed to talk with the prophet on the phone to get permission to interview al jazeera?! The one who says he is no longer accountable for any sins since the age of 80 and became freed by Allah (from Utaqaa' Al Rahman), and therefore he can say bad things about others without worrying about sin since angels stopped writing any against him? The one who says the prophet peace be upon him never came back from Al Mi'raaj and that what people saw was only an image and not the real prophet?

I would seriously consider removing your thread. Don't forget how a person's personality and behaviour change with age and fear Allah for the time when you reach the age of 90 + like shaykh Nazim. Have you ever dealt with our elder's, know he deserves some honour from you just from the fact of him being older islamically. Just listen to yourselves, some of you seem so spiteful and firebrand in your words. If people more qualified than you and me e.g. habib ali jifri, tahir ul qadri, habib umar, the late muhammad alawi makki (RA) had and have a very high opinion of shaykh Nazim that should be enough for most, and for those who disagree (which they have the right too) they should remain silent or at least add that thought to the times they write on threads, but do so with some wisdom and honour, even if it for yourselves. Know your position in the sight of Allah as the weakest of his servants before you spit out verbally attacking others. I hope I have not offended you, just wanted you to look at yourselves before you attack others. May Allah guide us all ... Ibrahim

yes, al-Habib Muhammad b. 'Alawi (Sa'd) al-'Aydarus al-Husayni radhiy Allah 'anhu wa rahimah has passed to the realm of the barzakh. Perhaps some of us may know him as the author of the Book of Intentions, discussed previously here. rahimahu Llahu rahmatan was'iah.
