Salaam,
For some odd reason, as I am not in the habit of visiting ShiaChat, I ended up there one time and someone had written a very unpleasant post. I was compelled to reply to it and as I got more engaged, I started to browse through their forum. I came across this topic made for Khalid ibn Walid (ra) and it was another topic, for another Sahaba (ra), and another reason for the Shias to curse him. I have to admit that Shias come up with the most astonishing stories, but unfortunately those stories are such grotesque lies that they put a big question mark on their reading, comprehension and transmission of history. They used two sources from Wikipedia and here they are: Claim # 1: Khalid ibn Walid (ra) killed innocent people and they quoted... "The Prophet sent Khalid bin Al-Walid to the tribe of Jadhima and Khalid invited them to Islam but they could not express themselves by saying, "Aslamna (i.e. we have embraced Islam)," but they started saying "Saba'na! Saba'na (i.e. we have come out of one religion to another)." Khalid kept on killing (some of) them and taking (some of) them as captives and gave every one of us his Captive. When there came the day then Khalid ordered that each man (i.e. Muslim soldier) should kill his captive, I said, "By Allah, I will not kill my captive, and none of my companions will kill his captive." When we reached the Prophet, we mentioned to him the whole story. On that, the Prophet raised both his hands and said twice, "O Allah! I am free from what Khalid has done." (Sahih Bukhari)" Claim # 2: Khalid ibn Walid (ra) killed a Sahaba, like they care for Sahabas (ra), and married his wife the same day.......since her period of iddah was still going, he (Khalid) basically raped her when he copulated with her. "Abu Qatada Ansari, a companion of Muhammad, who accompanied Khalid from Medina was so shocked at Malik's murder by Khalid that he immediately returned to Medina, and told Abu Bakr that he refused to serve under a commander who had killed a Muslim. The death of Malik and Khalid's taking of his wife Layla created controversy. Some officers of his army—including Abu Qatadah—believed that Khalid killed Malik to take his wife. After the pressure exerted by Umar—Khalid's cousin and one of Caliph Abu Bakr's main advisors—Abu Bakr called Khalid back to Medina to explain himself. Although Khalid had declared Malik an apostate, in Medina, ‘Umar told Khalid: “You enemy of Allâh! You killed a Muslim man and thereafter took his wife. By Allâh, I will stone you"." Now I did a quick research and found out that Malik became an apostate, and the tax money which he used to collect (it was his responsibility), he handed them all back to his tribe, after the death of Rasulullah (saw). Hence, he and his tribe became apostates and as such, the rules of iddah would not apply to his wife. Nevertheless, I am still baffled with the first claim. I need help and if someone needs to add something to my refutation of their second claim regarding Malik, be my guest. Thanks ![]() |

^brother, I hope that was not sarcasm
![]() So I, based on what I read, sort of reasoned to arrive to that conclusion. May Allah (swt) forgive me if I made an error in judgment. |
