...for our brothers and sisters going through trials and tough times. Whether they are halfway around the world or in our neck of the woods, whether we believe the distress they're going through is of their own making, even if we believe they deserve it....

...they are still our brothers and sisters, and we should pray for the best for them.

In a time when the ummah is divided by ethnicity, ideological beliefs, actions, visions, and differing perspectives, we must always remember that not only are we all creations of Allah, not only are we the children of Adam (AS), not only are we believers in one Allah, we are all believers in La ila ha il-Allah, Muhammadur Rasulullah ( ).

So let us keep this in mind, when speaking or taking action, that whatever we do is that which is best for our brothers and sisters, and not that which is best for our nafs and our ego; not that which gives us temporary satisfaction at the expense of our brothers and sisters; not that which makes us temporarily look good and makes them look bad; not that which rids us of some trouble and puts them into it instead; not that which makes us seem upright and makes them look indecent.

Let us work and pray towards that which is best -- in the eyes of Allah -- for each and every member of our big family, the ummah of Rasulullah .

If there isn't much we can do for our brothers and sisters undergoing trials and tribulations, the very least we can do is remember them in our dua`as.
