Why are they so Nosy? Why do they think it's important to publicly
ask you about your life, and think nothing of it.
If I ever do that, please shoot me, it's embarrassing,
you don't know whether to laugh or cry!
Either I must learn the art of telling people to shut up intellectually,
or walk away, I think the latter would be the cowards way out,
as no lesson was taught or learned!
They may find another victim , and harass them.

All the old aunties would poke me and say "YOU ARE NEXT!"

I had to smile at that as It use to annoy me before also. I'm a social person but I dislike people being nosy in my business , so it would annoy me when they ask about stuff that don't concerned them.

What to do when they ask about your life ... Just smile and give one word answers . Like " when's your turn to get married?".( the classic one ) " when are you moving away ?" " are you not expecting yet ?" lol Just smile and say don't say anything more that would give them the chance to ask more questions.

Generally speaking I've realized that if you don't ask about people affairs, people won't ask about yours. In order to get gossip you have to give gossip.

it can be creepy at times..especially desi women from back home, they keep asking young girls if they have started their menses yet, and get all excited when talking about these topics

I hate people talking about people!! it's such a common endurance, this is why I avoid as much human contact as possible! but then I get lonely :'( Ahhh sooo bad this is!

Only recently i realized asking others 'when are you getting married?' could be a bad thing. It sometimes hurts people since they must be looking to get married but they might be facing some problems. I usually ask people this question just make the conversation going, but sometimes its not a good idea.
