Default Did Prophet صلّی اللہ علیھ و سلّم see Allah swt?
What is standing of Ulema e Deoband about the event of Isra. Did Mohammad (saww) see Allah and meet him at throne? In starting ayats of Sura e Najm, قاب قوسین is used for hazret Gibrael or Allah.

No, no one has seen Allah

Bukhari: Volume 9, Book 93, Number 477:
Narrated Masruq:

'Aisha said, "If anyone tells you that Muhammad has seen his Lord, he is a liar, for Allah says: 'No vision can grasp Him.' (6.103) And if anyone tells you that Muhammad has seen the Unseen, he is a liar, for Allah says: "None has the knowledge of the Unseen but Allah."

Bukhari: Volume 6, Book 60, Number 378:
Narrated Masruq:

I said to 'Aisha, "O Mother! Did Prophet Muhammad see his Lord?" Aisha said, "What you have said makes my hair stand on end ! Know that if somebody tells you one of the following three things, he is a liar: Whoever tells you that Muhammad saw his Lord, is a liar." Then Aisha recited the Verse:

'No vision can grasp Him, but His grasp is over all vision. He is the Most Courteous Well-Acquainted with all things.' (6.103) 'It is not fitting for a human being that Allah should speak to him except by inspiration or from behind a veil.' (42.51) 'Aisha further said, "And whoever tells you that the Prophet knows what is going to happen tomorrow, is a liar." She then recited:

'No soul can know what it will earn tomorrow.' (31.34) She added: "And whoever tell you that he concealed (some of Allah's orders), is a liar." Then she recited: 'O Apostle! Proclaim (the Message) which has been sent down to you from your Lord..' (5.67) 'Aisha added. "But the Prophet saw Gabriel in his true form twice."

As-salamu ´alaykum,

There is a difference of understanding amongst Ahl al-Sunnah on this issue. This goes back to the Sahaba (radiya'Allahu ´anhum), with Umm al-Mu'minin Sayyidatuna ´A'isha (radiya'Allahu ´anha) denying the vision, and Sayyidina ´Abdallah ibn ´Abbas (radiya'Allahu ´anhu) affirming it.

Best thing to do is not to delve into these conversations. one may utter words of kufr.

Even if Muhammad salallahu alayhi wasalam saw Allah SWT,it would not be like the way we see objects today with light bouncing off of it.

If I'm not mistaken correct me if I'm wrong,we will see Allah SWT in jannah but not in the same manner that would cause tashbih (affirming likeliness).

So there is no issue if sayydina Ibn abbas was correct, and there is no issue if aisha r.a. is correct.

No, no one has seen Allah .

Are you sure brother about this?

Mufti Tosir Miah (Darul Iftaa, Birmingham) told us that according to many scholars (and Hadrat Ibn 'Abbas) Rasulullah did see Allah during the Mi'raj.

Wa Allahu a'lam..

I'd like to correct myself. The majority view, including that of the ulama of Deoband, is that Rasoolullah did see Allah with his eyes. I was told that he did not see Allah by an aalim.

I have also heard from Ml. Tariq Jameel about Rasoolullah and the deedar of Allah during the mi'raj.

Also, to brother Umair:

It doesn't matter if the ghair muqallideen take issue because some of the sahabas claimed that he did see Allah . So if someone believes that Rasoolullah saw Allah during the mi'raaj, then there is no blame.

There has been a difference on the issue even among the Sahaba with regards to this issue. On both sides you have great sahaba and sahabiyat. Hence it is not appropriate to make one definite stance on it. Some Shurrah and Ulama have made preference of one opinion over the other but the best is to just say Allahu wa Rasuluhu A'lam
