Im studying it to become a teacher in a school, i dont use that as my source of deen. Brother Ashraf Dockrat, i need help within a paricular essay. The theme is unity and fights between the three different abrahamic faiths. Firstly i need to identify examples of poor and good relations between the three different religions. and furthermore go on to say in what manner, or is it even possible to have good relations between the three religions in the present. (this is my main problem)

I also need to know the way law is interpreted within Judaism and Islam. aka the differences and similarities. some articles or books or just a paragraph would do if you could help ?

Ps. my first query is the main one, i can find examples such as cordoba where muslims and jews and chrisitans lived harmoniously. however i would struggle on the later part of the question, regarding whether good relations can exist between the three different religions in the present.

Please note im writing as an undergraduate student, in an academic sense, so i have to write critically and with references and analysis. that is the manner in which i have to write .

I will give you a very simple, brutal but helpful answer

Brother don't depend on people to give you answers online.

All you need to do is a list of your sources: Primary and Secondary...then confine yourself in a library

first you need to have selection of your essay, then identify what you want and ALWAYS avoid inserting your opinions unless in its in the few sentences in the last paragraphs of your essay

last but not least, looks like you are doing social science degree, therefore harvard method would be suitable for your referencing than numbering otherwise you might fall into the plagiarism trap which might result into gross academic misconduct and in turn you might be even be suspended if not expelled.

Last but not least I will try to send you list of journal articles that I've subscribed and list of books that might be helpful for you.

InshaAllah

Univesity Islam is half baked and dissinjenious in most part. So study islam under traditional scholarship and then further your study from the secular institute. This way you can be benefitted from both aspects of differing education system.
Assalamu 'alaikum

I offered six undergraduate courses for 17 years. Many of the ulama I worked with did not think that what we had developed and offered was "have baked" or "diddinjenious (sic) in most part". Please tell us more or think carefully before you write.

Ashraf

Shaykh, since you have done so much studies from a Drul Uloom (iirc) and also in Uni courses; what advices would you give to someone in a Darul Uloom who is considering doin such a thing.

For example, in terms of pros/cons; why someone should (or shouldnt) do such courses; what advantages will such a person have over someone who just did Dars Nizami (properly) (and maybe some takhassus in the Darul Uloom style) etc; what options would DU grads have and what should they choose

These where just some questions i thought might help you in answering, but what i was actually looking for is ANY sort of advice (as detailed as your time/energy/desire permits). It would be really beneficial because i'm not sure there are any other scholars on SF who have taken sucha route...

for anything you can do.
