Assalamu Alaikum wa rahmatullah,
My friend/colleague at work is an Anglican Christian (having been an agnostic until his mid 20s]. He is well versed with theology and has an excellent academic background, having done a bachelors and masters at Oxford. I was thinking of buying him a book for christmas (and no, I don't celebrate it!!) but was torn between the following: 1) Vision of Islam by William Chittick 2) Islam and the Destiny of Man by Gai Eaton Could somone who has read both give me a recommendation as to which one to go for? Other recommendations are also welcome. I will eventually give him Muhammad: His Life based on Earliest Sources by Martin Lings later on once he knows the basics. Jazak Allah Khair! |

Assalamu Alaikum wa rahmatullah, ![]() I've read both of them. The vision of Islam is a basic introduction to Islam, well worth for the general layman. But your friends seems to be an intellectual, then you should give him Islam and the destiny of man, I highly recommend that. |
