Default Billions of Stars
Aslamo Alikum

Dear All,

Did you ever ponder, why Allah (swt) created billions of stars?

The age of our universe is 13 billion but our life span is only 80 years. How can such a short lived man know the things that existed millions and billions of years before?

The answer is stars. Each star has a certain age and new stars are still forming and in our universe, stars of every age are present. There exist stars in our universe which are few days old and then there are stars which are millions to billions of years old and some stars have already born, lived and died.

All stars have certain age; they get born, they grow up, then they get weak and finally die. This is called Stellar Evolution.

By observing the stars of every age, we came to know that our Sun was once a child, then it was in its youth and now it is in its manhood, after few billion years more, it will be old and then it will die.

If these billions of stars were not present in our universe and stars of every age were not present, then we would never know this fact. Our age is too short to observe such things.

Conclusion:

God has created countless things with countless information so that a very short-lived man could acquire knowledge spanning billions of years.

for the post. and for sharing =) Stars are an incredible thing... I often think about this section of the Quran:

Surah Waqiah (56): Verses 74-76

Therefore ( O Muhammed), praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous.
Nay, I swear by the places of the stars -
And lo! that verily is a tremendous oath, if ye but knew -

____
Subhanallah. That is such an incredible oath. Who could know its true magnificence then? Who can know its true magnificance now? Trillions upon trillions of stars scattered throughout the universe. Sometimes we see little pinpricks of light, and forget they are not stars but an entire galaxy numbering a hundred billion stars or more. I once did a rough calculation and realised there are (probably) more stars in the universe then there are atoms in the human body. The universe around is a tremendous testimony to the power, magnificence and omnipotence of Allah swt..
and most of all what i find most humbling, is that our bodies are literally made of 'starstuff'. Eons ago there existed only hydrogen and helium, but as the first stars blew in gigantic supernovae, they brought heavier elements into existence. The heavy elements that make up our bodies. So nearly every single atom within our bodies once existed within the burning inferno of a star.

Its great to know, all elements bigger than hydrogen and helium (which are gases and first and second element) are made by stars.

Definitely, we are not gases and we are not just made of hydrogen and helium, we are made of bigger elements. It means, stars played most vital role in the formation of universe and including us.

Subhan Allah.

Amazing Aya, I'm always astonished to read these Aya's again while the first time I merely looked over.
The amazing thing about this Aya is the oath, many of us do not know what an oath meant for
the Arabs, it was like life and death. The oath was everything for a man, he would rather die than to break his oath.

And to hear this oath come out of the mouth of a Man (s) who was seen as the Trustworthy in his
times, the Arabs must have been blown away.

You all should read Sura Hadid and then read up about iron and how it is formed and then work out why the Qur'an mentions it specifically.
That's your homework.
