asslamu 'alaikum -
not sure if i should have posted in the parenting section, but anyway... i am worried about my child, very young now, but am worried about what kind of job he will get in future inshaAllah, or what type of career i should steer him towards...because of many reasons, there are many jobs and works where you have to compromise deen to get there, also because student loans are haram, how do i make a yound person understand this? I have seen many people they get older and see no problem with student loan...i was thinking maybe when he is school age to let him apprentice with a plumber or car mechanic to learn a trade... any thought or suggestions...or is it not right to worry since rizq is in the hands of Allah SWT? |

Wa alaikumu as-salam
Honestly you can't plan anything for him at the moment. You don't know his strengths, weaknesses, likes, dislikes and so on. In short, you don't know what he is suited for. You mentioned two jobs that require hand dexterity, for example. You don't know if he will have good hands. You should worry about the essential which is giving him a good education and then carefully asses the situation. |

3 years old MashaAllah! A momins intention is better than his action. Make intention (and dont let others deter you) and inshaAllah it will work out for you and your son. You are absolutely right. We do not have Islamic careers and we need to create them. InshaAllah over time you must be able to plan for him. Financially too, so when he grows you can hand over to him. For example: an Islamic magazine.... do it brother ... mashaAllah.. May Allah JJ make it easy for you Aameen. |
