![]() There is an alarming increase in discussion of politics and world news in Sunniforum lately. There are 11 threads in this topic in the front page Alone...! I too am guilty of taking part in these discussions. Aren't we fed up with all these politics discussed in the news channels and newspapers. My understanding is Many people (including the silent observers) come to Sunniforum to learn more about Islam and to be in Good company which they miss in real life. Instead we see threads about indo/pak, politicians etc etc. Its really a shame. I don't feel very excited to check sunniforum nowadays, because sometimes its like checkin BBC or Al Jazeera website. :/ It the heat of these discussions good threads are often pushed to the 2nd page and never noticed. Ofcourse 'Islam' is a hot topic for todays political world, but being obsessed with it doesn't help. Please keep the number of such topics on 'Worldly matters' on a low. I hope the Mods take a tougher stand on this. More importantly WE the members make a change and make it an effort to encourage more threads like: 'How many people did YOU bring to Islam?' 'Hazarat Moulana Younus Patels (RA)'s Neighbor' 'Power of Prayer' etc etc. No offense to anybody, just a humble request. ![]() ![]() |

politics is part of islam and all such discussions are generally beneficial. To discuss weather voting for imran khan is beneficial for the muslims is not a 'wordly' issue as such depending on what angle one looks at it. Islam is a complete way of life which involves politics, economics, ibadah, tasawuff, tabligh

Just think about the classic scholars of Islam. What percentage of the books they have written is about the politics of their era. Very little as far as i know. That shows the importance of it. The political situation changes all the time. But the knowledge of fiqh, ibadah, etc etc doesn't change. Thats a knowledge which can be sadaqa Jarriyah. ![]() |

![]() Unfortunately your thinking is on the wrong lines. Politics is part of Islam and the separation in your mind of "Religion vs State" is a Christian concept and nothing to do with Islam. ![]() |

The OP is not being too specific in what he means by politics. You even have politics now within maslak, for example within the various groups Tablighi, deo etc
Brother, you have to realise that as muslims we have to involve ourselves within politics to change things for the better, and ultimately for the deen |

![]() i agree with this and brother london's posts. also if the OP thinks there is too much politics then he should start his own threads which he finds interesting. its as simple as that. also OP, there is no need to get offended when other people post their comments and disagree with you. that is the whole point about discussion forums. |
