Bad English or good English, the more the merrier and i welcome all you brothers and sisters.
From what little you guys have wrote above i can assure you that you have better English than a lot of British people who have been born here or those who have come over to Britain and spent most of their lives in this country.Brothers we all make mistakes so don't worry.

Welcome to the forums! Are frogs and snails halal?
And how are Muslims coping with the discrimination Muslim women face in France?

I did not say that muslims eat frogs but french do. For the snails, i am not sure it's haram. In countries like morocco algeria, you've got people who eat them.

Discrimination is a very big problem for the muslim who try to respect their religion.
So you ve got some people who try to "fight" against the system but most of the population do not react.

As you may know, girls can't wear the weils in school and high school. They are refused for so many works. You can say that muslim women with hijab, who can keep their veil, are a little minority.
In French administration, Hijab is forbidden. It's not like Britain where you can find policewoman with a veil.

They are halal for Malikis; impermissible for Hanafis.

Thank for trying to answer. From France, we can see than muslim living in Britain look like a oummah.
You act more like a community, I really regret that it is not the same thing in france.

I would like to know, have you got great school for adult (beginner or not) for learning arabic and theological issues?

There is no comparison between the situation of Muslims in the UK and in France or the rest of the Europe.

Hopefully insha'Allah other brothers will provide you some contacts for one of the many madaris established in the UK..

There are many, brother, but I don't know precisely the addresses and way to contact them as I don't live in the UK.

I would suggest you to open a separate thread asking for infos about madaris in UK and every other detail you're looking for..

Yes, I imagine it is very difficult to be a Muslim In France. I hear also there is lots of discrimination against Muslims finding working there. People with the same qualifications are much more likely to get a job basically if they are non-muslim than muslim.

http://news.stanford.edu/news/2010/n...dy-112210.html

The team also designed a test in which fictional job candidates competed for the same position requiring advanced secondary education and several years of experience.

The names on the resumes reflected different religious and national backgrounds.
"Marie Diouf" posed as a French-Senegalese with a Christian given name, while "Khadija Diouf" appeared to be a French-Senegalese with a Muslim given name.

Each competed against a third candidate, "Aurélie Ménard," whose name sounded like that of a typical descendant of a well-established French family with no assumed religion. (Forcing a comparison between Khadija and Marie would have run the risk of tipping employers off to the test.)

The resumes for the Dioufs were identical except for their first names and the addition of a few activities: Khadija had worked for Islamic Relief and was a member of a Muslim scouting group, while Marie had worked for Catholic Relief and was a member of Catholic scouts.

The researchers used the faux resumes to apply for 300 advertised job openings, making Khadija and Aurélie compete for one set of positions and Marie and Aurélie compete for another. For every 38 callbacks received by Khadija, Marie got 100 callbacks – two-and-a-half times more than Khadija. To be honest, it is similar here. However you are right, i feel like we are more 'united' in the UK than in France. I do not understand how French Muslims, which number 5 million could allow the Niqab ban to be imposed. Inshallah we would not allow such a thing here.
Tell me something, what is the religious observance like of French Muslims? Is it growing?
I think its certainly increasing in the UK. Muslims no longer hide themselves in the same way they used to. We always had the core of muslims who behaved in an appropriate way, but many of us didn't. Now its getting better. However there is wayyy too much criminal activity, drug-dealing etc. in the Muslim community which i absolutely hate.

My English teacher told me snails taste like snot. I think that should be enough for anyone to stay away from that... erm... delicacies.

Oh and the same guy also told me something like 70% of British population wouldn't even pass GCSE English. Though I think it's fair to say that he was slightly being rhetorical in his statement.
