AAWW,
with no sighting possible in middle east, Oman has already declared Wednesday as EID. probably the only middle eastern country that does not blindly follow saudi arabia. also i wonder why some salafis are happy to blindly follow saudi arabia without any proof or evidence but at the same time accuse muslims who adhere to a madhhab as following blindly to the madhab. to me this is double standards. |

![]() The same website you linked will show you that it's scientifically impossible for the moon to be sighted in Arabia: check the visibility maps. That's why we make such a fuss regarding Saudi announcements.. What if the moon is seen by muslims in South-America, will those people in Europe follow their sightings like they followed South-Africa? We Hanafis don't have problem with global sighting, so it doesn't matter where the moon is sighted, on the condition that it's not astronomically/scientifically impossible to see it in that particular place and time.. |

i dont think its possible for the moon to be sighted in saudi tonight, its still way too young... at least not with the naked eye! even the saudi astronomical society expects eid to be on wednesday. http://arabnews.com/saudiarabia/article494126.ece anyway, if no moon is sighted locally and no official sighting from nearby countries then my eid will be on wednesday (even though my local masjid follows saudi) |
