Just thought i'd post some thoughts on a issue. Was talking to a scholar and he mentioned something very interesting. He mentioned that Shaykh Dehlwi once stated, based on the saying of the Prophet at the last sermon of leaving behind two things, namely Quran and sunnah. Shaykh Dehlwi said the quran and sunnah/hadith are two seperate noors/lights/protectors. If a person has Quran and sunnah/hadith in his life, then its like the person is safe guarded on both sides. So then the scholar went onto to say how in our homes and houses, the Quran is normally read but no tawajjuh(regard) is given to hadith. The scholar went onto to say we must enliven and enlighten our homes with ta'leem of hadith so that the noor of hadith comes into our homes and houses. He said one of the main reasons of ta'leem in the home is that the noor of hadith enters our homes. He also said, the men should try to recite their daily Quran recitation in the homes and not just in the masjid along with any zikr. He said the men come to the masjid and recite Quran etc but no tawajjuh is given to do so in the home. he also mentioned to pray our sunnah/nawafil prayers in the home as much as we can. he also said a few other things with regards to the power and strength of ta'leem in the home and gave some examples of how the amal had transformed lives of people and families. His final statement on ta'leem was 'is ko zaruri samjo'( treat the amal with importance) My point is(for the men) that we are so accustomed to doing all our amals in the masjid, that the home is devoid of much spirituality. So lets make some tarteeb in our homes to sit and recite Quran as a family,to have ta'leem as a family, to have dudrud majalis as a family etc. |
