As salaam alaikum wa rahmatullah,
Inshallah, I will be travelling to Makkah and Madeenah between the 28th April and the 5th May. I wanted to know if there are any well known or not so well known Awliyaa that I can approach for Dua' and perhaps Ruqyaa (Ta'weez etc). Anyone? |

Hazrat Maulana Shah Hakeem Akhtar Sahib's (db) son, Hazrat Maulana Shah Hakeem Mazhar Sahib (db) will be there from Karachi, Pakistan too inshaAllah. He is going to be there on a trip for 'Umrah and I am sure you will be able to find him by asking around. The Shaykh has khilafat from Hazrat Maulana Abrarul Haq Sahib Hardoi (ra), who was a khalifa of Hazrat Maulana Ashrafi Ali Thanwi (ra). |

However, since this forum is a open forum and can be visited by anti-Sufi people living in Saudi Arabia , I do not like to post the actual contact information of those mureeds connected to the sufi shaykhs. |

Yes , a good number of Sufi shaykhs live in those holy cities. But , due to the political reasons , I think, they keep a low profile. I mean, you should not find them openly conducting zikr sessions in mosques there. Alhamdulillah, I can speak moderately well in both languages. |

@seeker_ikb: You don't have to be a 'sufi shaykh' to be a wali. You seem to be a little obsessed with the formalities of tasawwuf Anyhow, Habib Zayn is a sufi Shaykh, and he has studied with the top Ba 'Alawi scholars (who were both fuqaha and sufiyyah) of his time i.e. Mufti of Tarim al-Habib Muhammad b. Salim b. Hafiz and al-Habib 'Alawi b. 'AbduLlah b. Shihab ad-Din. He taught alongside al-Habib Muhammad al-Haddar in al-Bayda' during the troubles in hadramawt, as well as al-Habib Salim b. 'AbduLlah b. Umar ash-Shatiri (another top figure of the Ba 'Alawis) in his Ribat in Madinah for 11 years. al-Habib 'Umar b. Hafiz was one of his students during his time at al-Bayda' . . . All the shaykhs he studied with whom I have mentioned are Sufi shaykhs and have multiple chains in tarbiyah going back to the messenger of Allah sallaLlahu 'alayhi wa alihi wa sallam, as well as all being sayyids, some of whom have what's known as the golden chain (like Habib Muhammad b. Hafiz), where every one of their fathers was a hafiz al-qur'an, 'alim and sayyid.

The shafi'i faqih, Habib Zayn b. Sumait prays at the masjid al-Quba, and visits the Baqi' daily . . . If you could meet him, that would be amazing, hafizahuLlah. -------- Biography http://www.************/forums/topic...yn-ibn-sumayt/ http://translate.google.co.uk/transl...%3Den%26sa%3DG -------- book http://seekerofthesacred.wordpress.c...in-sumeit-pdf/ |

@seeker_ikb: You don't have to be a 'sufi shaykh' to be a wali. You seem to be a little obsessed with the formalities of tasawwuf Since there is a bitter history of fake and semi-fake , half-baked and quarter-baked wali in the Muslim world , we should be really careful while apporaching a man known as a wali or sufi-shaykh among the people. |

Its quite strange that in the West you can openly conduct zikr majlis or sufi gathering in the mosques. But , you cannot do it at mosques in Saudi Arabia !!! |
