Brothers,
I have issues with my sleep. I stay up all night and sleep at odd times during the day like in the morning or in the afternoon and the thing is that I miss many of my prayers. What should I do to correct my sleeping pattern? I am already aware of how to reduce my sleep but how can i put my sleeping routine in order i.e that I sleep at night at the proper time and stay awake at day?? |

Recite The four guls and blow on yourself and inshallah goto sleep from what i been told. or recite bismilla sharif 3 time and blow on your self. Im person who doesnt sleep at night so i spend most my time doing zikr, durood sharif, read tahjudd prayer and fajr after all this i end up knocking off to sleep. Like they say eat less sleep less. anyone that stays awake at night time for ibaadat he gets awarded more. correct me im wrong. Sleeping dua Alla-humaBismika ah mootoo wa'ahya

![]() One thing we need to understand is that sleeping pattern won't change onervight. We got to be persistent and adamant on following a set schedule. Start with going to bed at 12 at least, you won't be able to sleep but do not get up. Just lay there, do dhikr and just try. You might get bored or get headache but just lay there or pray salah. After fajr sleep for ..say 3-4 hrs and then try not to lie down at all during the day for the first couple of days (if I take a nap during the day, even for 15 mins, I can't sleep at night, but that's just me). By Nightfall inshaAllah you will get extremely tired and fall asleep. Once you get a sound sleep throughout the night, chances are you will again be sleepless the next night, but continue to follow the schedule. Soon you will see that you feel sleepy at the same time every night and have a fulfilling sleep, inshaAllah. It might take a couple of weeks but inshaAllah you will see results. Once again, this has worked for me, your case might be different but you got to start somewhere ![]() May Allah help you and me and everybody. ![]() |

Salaam,
I do not know your specific circumstance brother, but until you find a good solution to change your sleeping pattern, you should be setting an alarm to go off and wake you up for your prayers, perhaps many alarms. Even if you think you will be up for that prayer, set an alarm for it anyway just in case. Or even better, find someone who will wake you up for your prayers and that will persistently nag you till you get up and pray. As to a way to fix your sleeping schedule, what I usually try to do whenever my sleeping schedule is messed up, is stay up all day. If I wasn't able to go to sleep the previous night, I wouldn't fall asleep in the middle of the day, as that would just make a never ending cycle of sleepless nights. I would continue to stay up until an appropriate time of night that I want to start sleeping at, then finally lay down and go to sleep. Do not sleep for too long however, as you do not want to miss fajr. Even though you would be very tired, your body doesn't need more sleep just because you stayed up for longer. You still would only need a maximum of 8 hours even though you stayed up for longer than usual. If after that you are still having trouble sleeping at night, or perhaps even before trying this at all, try reading something that does not interest you. Something that will not catch your attention, something you find extremely boring. Read it until your eyes become tired and heavy then put the book down and go to sleep. WAllahualam. |
