Does anyone know where I can find a list of the previous governors of Madinah Munawwarah for the last 200 years approx? Also, is the governor of Madinah province different from the governor of Madinah city?
A google search doesn't seem to bring up anything particularly relevant. ![]() |

Here is a list. I've left out the years where it was confusing.

Hazrat Madni (RA) stayed in Madinah Munawwarah at different times as mentioned below:
1317 - 1318 AH 1320 - 1326 AH 1332 - 1335 AH So Shareef Ahmad bin Mansoor couldn't have been Governor at that time. When Hazrat Shaikh ul Hind (RA) came here (which was before 1334 AH), Ghalib Pasha was the Governor of Hijaz and Basri Pasha was the Governor of Madinah Munawwarah. It is mentioned in his Biography that he contacted these Pashas for the Khilafat Movement. pasha (päsh'ə, păsh'ə, pəshä'), highest honorary title in official usage in the Ottoman Empire and with slight variation in the states formed from its territories, where it is sometimes still employed (although Turkey formally abolished it in 1934 and Egypt in 1953). The designation, which is a personal rather than a hereditary distinction, was given under the Ottoman rulers to individuals of both civilian and military status, notably ministers, provincial governors, and army officers. |
