Default what color car to buy?
assalamu 'alaikum -

eid mubarak to all!

just wondering - anyone ever heard any opinion on what color car to buy?

i have heard that Islamically there is some problem with the color red, and obviously the sunna color is white; so if you had to choose between a red and white car, would it be better to choose white?

jazakallah for any answers...

Whatever you buy, make sure you name it. It's sunnah to name your possessions. The Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi wasallam named his sword, shield, armour, donkey, camel, horse etc.

When I get a car, I will probably name it Al-Buraq!

Would be embarrassing if you ever get a flat tire.

Salaam Brother

Assuming you are talking about the sunnah of naming your animals/inanimate objects:

Since you are from Saudi + don't follow a madhab, have a look at this thread in a salafi forum: http://www.___.com/vbe/showthread.php?t=132 Put in ahlalhdeeth in place of the ____

On a separate note, if I had a private jet, I would sooooo name it al-Baz al-ashabb al-munqadd (The Flaming Falcon swooping down) - Inspired by Ibn Jawzi RA

The colour matter only applicable to clothings. Just go for any colour that doesn't bring unwarranted attention. It is more important muslim keep their front garden clean and tidy and their appeareance is dignified and stay away from akhi chav bling culture.

if you like a red car, its fine - buy it... but pink is better!

Guys, you don't need to give your cars a name. They already have one.

Is this a problem of 'rihya'? I often daydream about what car i want to buy. My current car is actually currently worth less than my smart phone lol. And I noticed something, slowly, but surely, whenever I imagine what car I would own. I imagine what it would look like from the outside. i would imagine what wheels it would have, and I would imagine me standing by the side of the road looking at it go by. i would imagine what people would say about my car choice. Slowly, indeed only recently, i came to the realisation, I hardly ever thought about what it would look like on the inside. How it would feel to drive, my own requirements and comforts.

May Allah swt protect us from the ever whispering Whisperer.
