For a reason or two, I removed publisher's info except for ISBN's.

In short he is one of the foremost historians of our times who has also written extensively on the lives of the four khulafa rashideen, Salahuddin Ayyubi etc. He has a Madinah University/Sudan background.

In terms of reliability - it's as reliable as it gets as it's based on authentic narrations whenever possible.

Both translations are amazing mashaAllah. I believe he has many works in Arabic which are still not translated into english. I look forward to his work on Umar bin Abdul Aziz RA being translated inshaAllah.

I found during reading through Abu Bakr Ra biography great benefit in listening to the seerah by Imam Anwar Awlaki as the works of Dr Sallabi are a major source of his lectures mashaAllah.
