Default Zakat on money that is inaccessible
As'Salam Alaikum,

i have two amounts of money on which I dont know how to deal with in in matter of Zakat:

First; I have some money that has been totally inaccessible to me for several years, and I dont know how long it may remain inacessible or even if I may be able to get it back in the next several years, or even if I will get it back at all.

Second; i gave loan to some one, latter he was in a hardship so I told him pay it back when you can, and if you cannot repay it in your life it is forgiven on you- that was about 10 years ago. Now it is not clear if he will ever be able / willing to pay it back.

So , do I keep paying zakat on these amounts, or do I wait until I recover some or all of it them pay the zakat for all the past years on the amount that is recovered etc. i am worried that if I stop paying zakat and waited for it to recover do i become sinful year after year? On the other hand paying zakat year after year does pose difficulty......

Question: What is hanafi opinion? Considering all 4 madhabs, what is the safest approach (in terms of akhirah)?

I will appreciate if the scholars on the forum could provide answers.

JazakumAllahu Khair
Was'Salamu Alaikum
