I don't see why it would be haram. I kill mosquitoes all the time even when they're not biting!

If you haven't read the link, you must distinguish between what is potentially harmful, and what is merely annoying.

Do the flies bite and could infect you or those in your home with disease?

Could the flies lay eggs in your food and expose you to disease?

Or could you simply open a window and they will fly away?

I have been looking for an answer about killing insects. We have quite a few cockroaches (small ones) in our home and sometimes crickets and flies. The cockroaches do not harm us dierctly but are a nuisance and come on food and such. Is it permissible to use insecticides on them? is it permissible to kill them by one strong blow or smack?
