![]() Is it permissible to take Food Stamps? Here in the US government offers public benefits to low-income people, benefits may include food stamps, housing benefits, cash benefits for the unemployed etc. Are such benefits permissible, if the muslim family qualifies based on their income level. Yes, I see what you mean. I am not muslim, certainly not a scholar but I would imagine that if you know by talking the stamp that it means someone else who needs it more doesnt get it, then it would not be halal, but how can you ever know that? I know there is a lot of families in Ireland who get state assistance that shouldnt be and there is not guilt there whatsoever.
