Default Sufism in saudi??
I was very ignorant with regards to KSA regarding tasawuf, but I recently discovered that there are many sufi saudi's out here :S

http://www.mujahideenryder.net/2006/...in-jeddah-ksa/

And then there is obivously Habib Ali Jifri and Muhammad Alawi

BUT, how come saudis never condemnd them? Because they are Mostly Wahabbis, infact I read somewhere that King Abdullah respected Muhammad Alawi alot? :S
And he used to give lectures in Haram Shareef.
Im confused lol.

And what tariqa are the saudi sufis from?
Because I usually reside in KSA and I would like a spiritual master.

Edit: forgot to add, I read on SF that he is Barelvi? :S :S

Brother, these topics are better left discussed after the ramadhan.
These are otherwise fruitless topics, primarily for academic discussions, and not worthy of using our ramadhan-time for.

Because they speak arabic and they can explain things. We can't speak proper arabic, we can't explain anything.

sayyid Muhammad b. 'Alawi was put on house arrest until he died.

the hijaz (makkah, madinah, jeddah) has always been full of sufis, and it still is.

Salam Alaikum,
I can't believe this. What is the benefit of 'spiritual master'?

Despite there is Masjid al-Haram and Masjid al-Nabawi, you need a 'spiritual master'?

May Allah guide us.

well most people do not have a personal doctor who is well aquainted with him and guides him on every aspect of his physical health. but imagine if he did. how healthy he would be.

in the same way if one has a pious and learned person who is responsible for every aspect of his deeni spiritual needs and understands him and his needs then imagine how healthy his deen would be.

this is the benefit of a shaikh.

If you are really sincere in search of a sufi master, you should read this thread below where you find a good number of shaykhs living in Saudi Arabia.

There is one Madarasah established long ago by ulama from India in Makkah. You can find its website
below. If you contact them , they will guide u to some genuine sufi shaykhs in Makkah.

http://web.archive.org/web/200812200...awlatiyah.com/

I have one friend who is a mureed of a Shaykh Abd al-Hafiz al-Makki (DB), who is a Khalifah of Mawlana Zakariyyah al-Kandehlawi (RAH) who is the famous author of "Fazael -e-Amal " used in Tabligi Jamat. Malwana Zakariya (RAH) has some other khulafa living in Mawdina.
