Narrated Sahl:

The Prophet said,...

"There is a Gate in Paradise called Ar-Raiyan,

and those who observe fasts will enter through it

on the Day of Resurrection

and none except them will enter through it.

It will be said, 'Where are those who used to observe fasts?'

They will get up, and none except them will enter through it.

After their entry the gate will be closed

and nobody will enter through it."

'Narrated Abu Huraira ....

Allah's Apostle said,...

"Whoever gives two kinds (of things or property) in charity for Allah's Cause, will be called from the

Gates of Paradise... and

will be addressed,... 'O slaves of Allah! Here is prosperity...

' So, whoever was amongst the people who used to offer their prayers...,

will be called from the gate of the prayer;...and

whoever was amongst the people who used to participate in Jihad,

will be called from the gate of Jihad;... and

whoever was amongst those who used to observe fasts, will be called from the gate of Ar-Raiyan;

whoever was amongst those who used to give in charity, will be called from the gate of charity.

" Abu Bakr:anhu : said,

"Let my parents be sacrificed for you,...

O Allah's Apostle No distress or need will befall him who will be called from those gates.

Will there be any one who will be called from all these gates?"

The Prophet replied, "Yes, and I hope you will be one of them."

Hadith on: walking to the mosque for fajr and Isha salaah...

Buraidah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

The Messenger of Allah said, "Convey glad tidings to those...

who walk to the mosque in the darkness.

For they will be given full light on the Day of Resurrection.''

[At-Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud].

Commentary: "In the darkness'' here indicates the 'Fajr' and `Isha' prayers which are performed when it is dark. Because of the street lighting nowadays we do not feel darkness in these hours in towns and cities but even then these lights do not overcome the darkness completely. Thus in spite of the lights, 'Fajr' and `Isha' prayers are the prayers of the dark. Their merit mentioned in this Hadith is that those Muslims who go to the mosque for these prayers will be endowed with perfect light on the Day of Requital by means of which they will easily cross As-Sirat, while those who will be deprived of this light will be facing great trouble in crossing it.

Abu Huraira (r.a.) related that the Prophet said:

Whoever fasts during Ramadan with faith... and
seeking his 'reward' from 'Allah' will have his past sins forgiven.

Whoever prays during the nights in Ramadan with faith... and
seeking his 'reward' from 'Allah' will have his past sins forgiven.

And he who passes Lailat al-Qadr in prayer with faith... and
seeking his 'reward' from 'Allah' will have his past sins forgiven.

Abu Hurairah reported:

The Messenger of Allah said,...

"When any one of you is observing Saum (fasting) on a day,...

he should neither indulge in obscene language nor should he raise the voice;...

and if anyone reviles him or tries to quarrel with him he should say:

`I am observing fast.'''

`Abdullah ibn `Amr reported that the Messenger of Allah, salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam, said: "The fast

and the Qur'an are two intercessors for the servant of Allah on the Day of Resurrection. The fast will say:

'O Lord, I prevented him from his food and desires during the day. Let me intercede for him.' The Qur'an

will say: 'I prevented him from sleeping at night. Let me intercede for him.' And their intercession will be

accepted."

Intentional/unintentional vomitings during fasting:

Abu Hurairah reported that the Prophet,, said...

“Whoever is overcome and vomits is not to make up the day...

Whoever vomits intentionally must make up the day.”

Hadith qudsi: Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said,

"Allah swt. said: The Fast is for Me and I will give the reward for[B] it...

as he (the one who observes the fast) leaves his sexual desire, food and drink for My Sake.

Fasting is a screen (from Hell)...

And there are two pleasures for a fasting person,....

one at the time of breaking his fast, and the other at the time when he will meet his Lord.

And the smell of the mouth of a fasting person is better in Allah's Sight than the smell of musk."

he should complete his Siyam,

for it is Allah who has fed him and given him drink (Bukhari, Muslim).

Narrated 'Aisha :

Allah's Apostle said, "Whoever died and he ought to have fasted (the missed days of Ramadan)

then his guardians must fast on his behalf."

[Bukhari]

Narrated Ibn Abbas :

A man came to the Prophet and said, "O Allah's Apostle ! My mother died and she ought

to have fasted one month (for her missed Ramadan)....

Shall I fast on her behalf?"

The Prophet replied in the affirmative and said, "Allah's debts have more right to be paid."

In another narration a woman is reported to have said, "My sister died..."

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas : A woman said to the Prophet "My mother died and she had vowed to fast but she didn't fast."

In another narration Ibn 'Abbas is reported to have said, "A woman said to the Prophet, "My mother died while she ought to have fasted for fifteen days."
