Assalamu - Alaikum

We hope you are all well and in the best in imaan in these final days of Ramadhaan. I would like to share with a fundraising cause that is very close to my heart, and an excellent opportunity for us all to get involved and be forever rewarded until qiyamah!! AND.....potentially aquiring a free Umrah trip in the process!

Ebrahim College in Whitechapel are looking to expand to fulfill the ever growing needs of the Muslim community. In addition to purchasing the current premises, they are looking to completely redevelop the current site to a state of the art, purpose built, university style educational facility, serving brothers and sisters and dedicated to teaching the Islamic Sciences; hopefully with some residential capacity thrown in. They currently run Islamic courses throughout the year, from basic Arabic for new Muslims and beginners all the way up to advanced levels, fiqh, aqeedah, family and social life, a full and part time Alim course, a successful secondary and 6th form, and the new Islamique monthly magazine! On top of this, there are charitable events run, such as bike rides, the Makkah Twin Peaks Challenge and a hardship fund for those seeking Islamic knowledge but unable to afford it. They teach from the classical sources, including only the authentic sources of Qur'an and Sunnah, and presenting it so that it is applicable in this time and age, with no compromise on original teachings. I have been to several courses with many organisations, and I have to say Ebrahim College is unique in its delivery, the caliber of teachers they use, and their determination to provide the very best to produce the best from us. To make this a success, the square foot sale project has been launched, an initiative to be pushed all Ramadhan. The concept is simple, buy a square foot of land from the college's current land footprint and donate it as a permanent waqf to Islamic Education. You will be rewarded for all the college's work until qiyamah. Think of all the ulema that will qualify as a result of your help; this can ONLY be of benefit. Most importantly, there will be a live appeal on Channel S (sky 814) for an all night fundraiser on 22nd August. This requires a huge amount of work from us and your support and du’as. You can help in one of the following ways:

Tune in and watch the live appeal on Channel S (sky 814) on 22nd August from 5pm – fajr. Please put this in your diary now.

2. Donate a square foot yourself for £1000. Do it in your name, your family’s name or in the name of a deceased family member. Call in and announce it on the live appeal to encourage others. If this is too much for you, why not team up with several others and collectively come up with £1000? I am trying to put together a group of 10-20 people to make up this amount, so please do contact me via this email (gmuslims@googlemail.com) or on 07846353712 if you are interested. Remember, this is a lifetime investment whereby a little sacrifice now will lead to a lifetime of reward!

3. If you can’t afford the donation yourself, try raising it. You can set up a justgiving page and start fundraising straight away. Find out how here.

4. As a bigger initiative, speak to others and raise 5 square feet for us. That’s £5000 from your friends and relatives. In return, as a gesture of the college's appreciation they will take you to ‘umrah. The only condition is all five donors must be taxpayers. Notify the college if you are going to try to raise this.

5. Spread the word about the project and the live appeal on the 22nd. Forward this email to your contacts and make some calls for us as a volunteer.
