Default An interesting and difficult question about Hadith and it's credibility.
Salam walikoum wa rahmat Allahi wa barakatuh. Dear Brothers and Sisters, I have been a muslim since birth. And since birth I've been thinking about this question that is very difficult to explain. I dont think its possible to give an explation to this question.

How do we know that Hadith's are true ? How can we be so sure that they are credible, that they haven't been changed or if it is not just myths. Were is the Credibility. People make mistakes but God (swt) makes no mistakes !

Unlike the Quran we have evidence of Allah (swt) where he clearly says that he will protect the book until the hour. It will not be changed. Protected !

The Quran speaks for itself:

"Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its guardian.." (Qur'an 15:09)

"We do not abrogate a verse or cause it to be forgotten except that We bring forth [one] better than it or similar to it. Do you not know that Allah is over all things competent?" (Qur'an 2:106)

So how can we believe in the hadiths. Do you not think it's harmful that people refer to the hadiths and forget the Quran for an example?

And God (SWT) knows the best, regards / The brother.

What would you say, if I told you that the Holy Qur'an itself orders us to not only consider Hadith but even to follow them?

If God protected His Word which is in the Quraan, would he not protect His Words which came from His Beloved Prophet SAW?
After all, all the rulings which the Prophet SAW said was revealed to him by Jibreel AS which came from Allah.
Why would Allah protect just the Quraan, which tells us to pray, but then not protect the Hadeeth which tells us how to pray?

While I have no 'evidence', I think logic would be enough to answer this question.
Alhamdulillah, however if more is needed someone else will provide more information.

First of all, I doubt you've been thinking about this question since you were born. In fact I doubt you even knew what a Hadith was for at least the first 5 - 10 years of your life.

Second of all, the authenticity of the Quran cannot be proven through the Quran itself. Your argument is circular and a person could claim that those two verses you mentioned were themselves additions to the Quran. Rather, the authenticity of the Quran is proven through the existence of numerous chains of transmission that go all the way to Rasulullah . We know that the verses you mentioned are truly from the Quran because we have numerous people who agreed and corroborated the claim that those verses were indeed verses of the Quran, and this proves the promise of Allah that He would be the Protector of the Quran true as well (because the number of people who agreed that the Quran is indeed authentic is so large that it precludes the possibility of conspiracy).

Now here's the bonus:

The method we just used to prove the authenticity of the Quran is also the method we use to prove the authenticity of the ahadith!
