Why do you expect a reward for saying prayers? cos muslims (sunni) are rewarded for their actions in the next life.

do shiahs believe in the afterlife? no? that's too bad.

serious question.....

what should people expect to be rewarded for according to your religion?

You shouldnt be thinking about being rewarded, you should be a good muslim because it is the right thing to do.
SubhanAllah

What a deep philosophy!

Let me throw in some more philosophy too if falsafay ka bazar garam hwa wa hai , well first of all what does reward mean, it means the pleasure of Allah. That should be the driving force. If you dont want the pleasure of Allah/reward, then you will get what you intend. But if you change your intention to be rewarded with pleasure of Allah, then you will surely get according to your intention. Some people intend to do the right action so people can look and say what a nice person, he does the right things. So he will get what he intends. But another person says i do the right things to get the pleasure of Allah/reward so he has a higher aspiration.

I think just do the right things because u feel its right is not too right. Well how can our limited intellects decide what is the right thing on our own unless a prophet and Wahi guides. So to back up this claim lets look in Quran. We know slaughtering your own little son for no good reason is definitely wrong, like who can argue that. But When Allah gives hukm to do that Ibrahim A.S does not question or try to find the logic, his main concern was the pleasure of Allah/reward so he did somethign that apparently looked not the right thing to do. So Reward/Allah's pleasure should always be the driving force.Allah knows best.
