Assalamu Alaikum,
My mother went to a taleem once and was told women can make itikaaf at home, even if it is for an hour. Can women do that? If yes, could someone please shed some light on this, on how to do it. If this already been discussed before I do apologize, I would appreciate if you could please direct me to that link, inshaAllah because I searched but couldn't find any. Apologies for asking too many questions, but I never knew who to ask until I found this forum, Jazak Allah Khair. may Allah reward you greatly for your help. Wasalaam |

assalaamu 'alaykum sister,
The sunnah i'tikaaf is best but of course many woman cannot do it. So yes, a nafl one whenever we have some time to ourselves is a very pleasant and beneficial experience. All we have to do is make an intention for a nafl i'tikaaf for a certain period of time and stay in a quiet corner and spend it in worship, du'a and reflection...insha Allah you will find it very peaceful (glad to see you were well advised on the wudhu problem thread) edit: pls remember me too |

![]() Jazak Allah Khair sister, for this valuable information. If I understood it correctly, if I make niyah for nafl itikaf from fajr until asr for example, then I need to sit at one place and do ibadah, and if I need to lie down for a bit, I cannot leave that place, I will have to lie down there itself. However, I am allowed to use the restroom and such. Ibadah would include all forms of worship like salat, tilawah, dua', tasbihat. Please correct me if I am wrong. Alhamdulillah, by Allah's grace and mercy I am regaining confidence in my ibadah due to the advice given by the members regarding my wudu problem. ![]() |

for a nafl i'tikaaf the conditions are not so strict but the more we remain in seclusion and in the same place the better....and yes, we're allowed to go use the bathroom and yes any form of worship Alhamdulillah that you're feeling better about the wudhu problem. Ignoring wasaawis is the best solution. They are like unwanted guests.......if we pay attention they will be back and if we ignore them they will eventually not bother us! |

This May Help With Your Query Brother: But It May Not Be As Supportive To The Evidence You Require.
