Default Taraweeh Is Not A Race!!| TIME | May Allah Make Us Follow All The Sunnats | Pray Slow
Bismillahirahmaniraheem
Assalamu alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh
Monday 15 August 2011 | 15 Ramadhaan 1432 AH

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C75Jc3NWzYo - KUSHOO AND KOODHOO NEEDED

We Go To Listen To The Quran And Perform Taraweeh

Not Just To Pray Taraweeh

Our Thing Nowadays Is To Go To Find Out Which Masjid Finishes First Although They May Be A 5 Minute Gap In Finishing Times.

A Person Should Be In Ruku For At Least 3 Subhanallahs And Same With Sajdah

In Between Every Posture There Should Be A Break - Be Still

The Message Is Not To Criticize The Above Video Or Any Individual However It Would Be Nice For Other Brothers To Raise The Importance Of Performing Salaat According To The Sunnat

Me Mindful For Elders Who Have Difficulty In Getting To Different Postures Quickly

At Least A Laymen Should Come To Know When The Imam Mentions Janaat, Jahannam, Day Of Recknoning, Etc

Wa 'alaikum as salam wr wb

i think praying taraweeh relatively fast as it is is a good idea [as long as there is no violation of wajibs?] especially in these long summer days; i get so tired around time of taraweeh that any longer than it is, i'll probably fall asleep praying!, so i understand the wisdom of praying it 'fast'; it's not easy for all to pray for a whole hour or more [at the end of a long hard day], thus prolonging it even more could dissuade a lot of people to stop at 8 rakaahs or miss taraweeh jamaat alltogether

I hope they atleast continue with this even if it is very speedy. What a loss would be if they even give up these few minutes of Qayam, ruku and Sajda in front of Allah.Tota phuta hi sahi, bas kam chalta rahay. thanks for the reminder bro, needed this wake up call to bring khusho in our Salah

Rofl at the video, some even go from ruku to sajda directly it seems!!
I would prefer the Imam to recite from surah feel to surah naas peacefully.
That is what my Turkish local mosque do, they pray the 20 rak'a with short surahs but at a reasonable pace.
But I prefer tilawah of the qur'an (1 juz) rather than the short surahs, even if it means praying only 8 rak'ahs.
