Love for one's home country is only natural. However, celebrations marking
independent, etc. do not have any scope in Islam. These are Kuffaar-type
celebrations and should be avoided. Participating or even witnessing such
celebrations is prohibited.

Before i talk about the independence day of 14th August for Pakistan, I would like to say that I dont dare to say anything in return to the fatwas approved by honorable Hazrat Maulana Mufti Ebrahim Desai D.B, but i will only talk about in terms of Pakistan , that yes , when on 14th august people of Pakistan break the laws of Shariah and celebrate it to a level where 14th August becomes a celebration like that of Eid, Then offcourse this is transgressing the limits and moving away from the remembrance of Allah. However, if its merely a day where institutions, government sector and the civil sector of Pakistan, remembers and rejoice the day when their ancestors gave their lives away and built this Pakistan, then there is nothing wrong with this. Pakistan was a blessing , I understand Indian muslim brothers do not agree with it, but Pakistani people wanted it, and It was through the help of Allah they got it, so there is nothing wrong to remember it and rejoice it within the limits of Shariah. The intention should be simply to thank Allah that a safe land was given where they can freely practice the deen and form a muslim government.
However, currently 14th August is a day, Where i wish muslims of Pakistan sit and ponder over the country and realize how far we have gone away from the Deen , and because of that how far we have gone away from the vision of what Pakistan was suppose to be, and it should be a day where I wish every Pakistani cry and do tauba from Allah. The time to rejoice has gone , and its time for sincere Tauba.
Celebrating independence day of US, has no meaning for us Muslims, but to rejoice and celebrate within the limits of Shariah and remember the sacrifices of ancestors who gave blood for Pakistan, should not be condemned, that blood was given with the vision that muslims will freely practice their deen and a strong muslim nation will be built. But khair, its 14th August and my humble request is to all muslim brothers and sisters to pray for hidayat for the people of Pakistan and that Allah give the nation the taufeeq to make sincere Tauba. A true saleh muslim nation will only be khair for this world.JazakAllah

for the reminder bro. I do not intend to do this either in India.

We will one day celebrate the reinstating of the Khilafath.

Assalamu alaykum.

I fail to understand why do we rush to the scholars for matters unrelated to deen.

Should I go ask a scholar whether it is valid to celebrate completion of a project. Or celebration on project kick off.

Yes, everyone one knows that cocktail parties are haraam.

Independence day is not celebrated as a deeni obligation. No sawaiyyan or briyani. The government wants the present day youth to have knowledge of history.
