Default different types of sufis
I just read a brothers account of his experience with the naqshbandi tarriqua and am interested to visit teh various tarriquas operating around north england, especially sheffield inshallah. Can someone please give me some details of the various things happening?

I found this when I googled sufi tarriqua:

http://sufiorderuk.org/index.php

are there any others?

can you provide me some links and contacts for the deobandi sufis?

on those links I gave, they are saying God dwells in the idols and the sun etc. Look at the links and you'll see that the hijacking of sufism is a real and present danger and the sufi community needs to be at the forefront of combatting this inshallah

al-Buruj is holding a course or a lecture by Mufti 'Abdur Rahman Ibn Yusuf on Tasawwuf. Please attend that, it's going to cover many topics.

Inayat Khan, the exemplar of "universal Sufism", was a deviant fraud. His teachings do not conform to the teachings of the great masters of tasawwuf. Stay away.

One of the names mentioned is William C. Chittick. In another thread here at SF people have named a book by him as an introductory book on Islam to a non-Muslim visitor. Can somebody comment on that book?

I have come accross so much of oriental books, that have nothing but watered down, distorted views of Islam. I have not seen this book but on my recent visit to the bookstore, I couldnt find a single decent islamic book.

I just hope that our muslims brothers and sisters who are authors can publish some proper books. There is a great need in ummah and readership for such books. We are left with nothing but some rubbish book to read.

At the same time, it is our duty to fund these brothers and sisters to get their work published.
