Default Ibn Taymiyah and Satan
Prophet Mohammed [ sal allahu alayhi wa aalihi wa sallam] said :

“He who sees me in a dream has certainly seen me, because Satan cannot take my form."

[Narrated by Sayyedina Abu Hurairah radiyallahu anhu in Bukhari and Muslim]

Leader of the anthropomorphist, Ibn Taymiyyah writes in his book al-qaida al-jaleela fit- tawwasali wal-waseela point number 46)

“The angels do not help people in committing polytheism, whether when people are alive or dead. Angels do not even like this. In fact the shayateen sometimes help people (in committing polytheism). These shayateen appear in front of people with human face (image) …… Then these shayateen proclaim that they are (prophet) Ibrahim ( alayhis salam) , (prophet) Isa ( alayhis salam), (prophet) mohammed ( sal allahu alayhi wa aalihi wa sallam)……….. ’’

This was the aqida of Ibn Taymiyah.

The hadeeth you have quoted is for dream.

The ruling given by shaykh .Timiyah RA is for people who say yaa nabi almadad, ya rasool al madad, yaa gouse almadad, yaa ali al madad.

I think there is some difference in whether shaitan can come in the dream to claim that he is prophet muhammad saw and shaitan taking the form of prophet muhammad saw and coming in a dream. the latter is unanimously declared impossible. I think in the former there is some doubt and it could be that ibn taymiyyah was referring to it.

do correct me if i am wrong.

Ah Ramadhan, the month of attacking each-other...

That Quote above is talking about the Jinn that come to you while you are awake (not in a dream) and they claim to be angels or prophets and they tell you about the future or grant you some of your wishes and make you worship them and do their bidding in the process:

Quran Chapter 34:
And [mention] the Day when He will gather them all and then say to the angels, "Did these [people] used to worship you?" (40) They will say, "Exalted are You! You, [O Allah], are our benefactor not them. Rather, they used to worship the jinn; most of them were believers in them." (41)

Also for your information O smart readers, Ibn Tayymiyah does not say that the Jinn come in the form of the Prophet SAWS, he says that the Jinn comes in the form of a Human then claims to be the Prophet SAWS.

ibn taimyyah wasnt amthromorphist, he didnt say Allah had a likeness with humans.

there is a small dispute between atharis and ashari/maturidis over terminology and whether to complete negate attributes Allah affirns fr himself or whether to affirm without asking how or making likeness to humans. its a fine difference.

Ibn Taimiyyah said a lot of nice things about asharis that poeple never seem to quote

I honestly cannot see anything wrong in Shaykh Ibn Taymiyyah 's statement, especially after br Tripoly's post.

Thread closed. Please pick at your own faults this Ramadhaan and rectify them, rather than searching for invisible faults on others, dead or alive.
