Default Advice needed
Assalamualaikum
I have been advised by a friend that one of the people who will be leading taraweeh, has been known to drink and take drugs, obviously this will render the salah void, therefore I would like to know what course of action should be taken, in light of the congregation and in light of saving face of the brother who will lead the salah!

Jazakallah

More importantly you have to have clear proof if you are going to say that the brother is doing/did what you said.

Only deservering people should become imam. Not an open fasiq.
may be true, but this is not equivalent to stating that the salat would be void...

The people incharge of selecting a fasiq would be held accountable. If one is sure of such thing, the lest one can do is to speak to them.
there will come a time when undeservign people will become leaders. An ill learned people will be reffered to for knowledge. they will be missguide others.
How apt is this statment in our present time

Assalam alaykum,

I don't think this invalidates the salat, but you should speak to the brother directly about the matter and be mindful of what the Quran cautions us about gossip.

Wassalam
