Default Some Things I really need to get off my Chest
Well, I am a Muslim Brother who Prays 5 times a day now and has just finished umrah, and I have a few things I really need to get off my chest

1.) I stopped Masturbating for 1 month -2 Month and I am still getting urges and I think Shaythan is making the ideas that Masturbating is ok since it's the lesser sin. How do I survive and tell myself not to masturbate and when will these urges stop? I have gone 1-2 months without doing this dirty act and I still get urges

2.) I am worried about the state of Muslims in Muslim countries because when I came back from umrah I went to Abu Dhabi and saw Arab Woman wearing some of the most harram of harram clothing and I feel that this ummah is tainted by corruption.

Thank You!

point #1 get married, try to make hijra, fast mondays and thursdays, use ramadhan to your benefit, put a web blocker on your computer if you ever look at internet pornography, dont go to areas where this is a lot of nakedness as this will drive up your sex drive, also dont forget that some people can have an addiction for this and you can get professional help and also dont forget that you should constantly seek Allahs mercy and pray 2 raka'ah of tawbah every time you commit the sin and learn about tawbah and how to receive forgiveness for a sin and no matter even if you dont stop committing this sin, keep up with your ibaadah, salaah, memorise qur'an etc as having a weakness doesnt mea all of your ibaadah is worthless, in fact it means you need more ibaadah to offset any sin you may accumulate. Also dont stay out of dawah etc, some people think that committing a sin means you cant give dawah which is not correct. Keep striving and no matter what stay firm in your deen inshAllah

point #2 correct and thats why we need to rectify teh condition of this ummah inshAllah

عليكم السلام

Dear brother, one is not held accountable for having urge to sin, but will be questioned for committing the sin. Human will have many urges, thoughts - good or bad, but no matter what, use your courage given by Allah to stop committing sin. I suggest you to go to the site of Hazratwala Maulana Hakeem Akhtar Sahab (DB), www.khanqah.com and listens to all the bayans concerning Taubah (there are number of them). Hazratwall have given beatiful examples that will give you courage to leave sin. Also the site www.maulanayunuspatel.co.za. In most of the bayans, Hazrat Maulana Yunus Patel (DB) will touch base upon various meladies of modern society. Oh! my heart cries out remembering the time I spent in his company in Medinah/Jeddah.

Bottom line is - only one medicine works - that is to use your courage and face any situation head long - as perhaps Hazratwala's (DB) mentioned somewhere - "Jan ki Bazi laga dena gunah se bachne ke liye" i.e. bet your life to get away from sin. Do not be desperate. That is what Shaytan wants someone to fall into.

Make the full use of the blessed moth of Ramadan in sincere devotion, adopting different ways of Ibadah, reciting Quran Kareem, Zikir, listening to good Bayans, contempleting the greatness of Allah & His wrath on the generations those were ungrateful etc., and keeping the company of pious people/friends. Do not give yourself time to think about bad things.

May Allah give you and all of us Taufiq to leave all minon and major sins.

you actually get reward for intending to do a sin and then not doing it. might aswell take advantage of the situation for some extra reward inshAllah. just imagine that, you can earn reward by simply not massturbating

1) Focus on your relationship with Allah.

Muftī Ebrahim Desai [حفظه الله]:

"Just as one needs to detoxify from poison and toxic in the body to see the effect of good and healthy foods, so too a sinful person needs to detocify from sinful acts to see the hidden effects of his salah, tilawah and charity."
[Fatwa # 19260, AskImam.org]

Imam al-Ghazzaali:

"When a man is addicted to sins, he is deprived of the virtue and facility of worship because of the curse of his sins. Sins stand in the way of service and obedience to Allah. "
[Minhajul Abideen]

2) It's due to disobedience of Allah and not good tarbiyyah.

Thank you Brothers for responding but as we speak Shaitan is urging me to do sin, and it's very hard to resist him.

Islam is perfect, but Muslims are not.

Don't be too hard on Muslims or expect them to be perfect, because no-one is perfect. Make 72 excuses for your brothers and sisters, while being strict with yourself. Strive to please Allah in all things, including being a good Muslim and leading by example.

In order to improve the lot of the Muslims worldwide, we can increase our worship of Allah ; make more sacrifices like praying tahajjud at night, engaging in a lot of dua for the ummah, crying profusely and begging Allah to improve our conditions , and actively carry out the work of dawah to Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
