Default Did Umar(Radhi allahu taala anhu) ban women from the mosque ?..
As salam alay kum wa rahmatulahi wa baraka tahu.

Dear brother's and sister's i have a doubt about women entering mosque, i know there are lot of valid ahadith which tell's us do not stop women to go mosque when they will's.

But some one said me that Umar (Radhi allahu taala anhu) stopped women from mosque's, in my research i found I know of a hadith in Sahih Muslim where Umar (Radhi allahu taala anhu) grandson (Bilal)(Radhi allahu taala anhu) wanted to prevent women from coming to the mosque but Umar(Radhi allahu taala anhu) son (Abdullah)(Radhi allahu taala anhu) told him he could not go against the Sunnah of the Prophet (SAW).

Is there is any authentich ahadith which tell's us clearly that Umar (Radhi allahu taala anhu) prohibited women's from mosque's ???...

If not then why people doe's not allow women's to mosque especially tabligh jamath people.. and i think ahle sunnath wal jamath also..!

wr wb

Brother this issue has been discussed by Ulama over the ages. It is not your or my understanding of Hadith that matters.

It is known that feminists have for long campaigned to get females into Masajid - and to stand next to males and to be Imaams, etc.

I advise you to this link http://muslimality.wordpress.com/201...ion-part-five/
Read all 5 parts of the discussion.

the shafis dont accept the statements of the sahaba (r.a) as proof to derive law from. So even if the statement of umar (r.a) is authentic they would not neccaserily practice on it. In s.africa the females who go to masjid are usualy shafi
