Assalamualaikum,
For a very long time now people have said that my father may be under the curse of black magic. I know that black magic exists (because it is said in Qur'an and Hadith) but i never understood why anyone would want to curse him so i have not accepted that he is cursed. Does anyone know the signs or signals of someone who is under black magic or cursed? are they even any signs? and if someone is cursed what exactly happens to them? do they go insane? make rash decisions? My mother has lived with his behavior for 23 years and she no longer has any other explanation for how he behaves. She has tried MANY things (reading Durood 100 tasbees, she has asked muftis and alims for help but for some reason nothing has worked in the long term. He does improve for a little while but then its like one day something.. comes over him and he is once again reverted back to the way he was before. it is possible to break the cruse only to have it reinstated back into the person? i have.. no idea how this works. If anyone could please shed any light on this i would very grateful. Jazzakula |

It could be either physical or spiritual. Discuss this issue with your local ulama. If they think that you should consult an amil then ask them their opinion and recommendation for one. |

We have asked the local mufti and my mother has asked other knowledgeable people that she knows. they agree that he is cursed but the refuses to accept it when we tell him. I will re-type it ALL AGAIN insha'Allah tonight, as for now al I'll say is that please stay strong and do not be afraid if you do think it is magic. I have been through this stage and It was bad the way I was effected, but just remember without Allah ta'alas will nothing can harm us. Make sincere Du'aa to Him. |

Read Ayat al Kursi 125000 times in 40 days. Is this possible? It takes me about 17-20 seconds to recite it once (properly, even without reciting bismillah before each time). So I can do about 3 times a minute. 180 times an hour. I'd need 12 hours full to recite it 2160 times. But in order to read it 125000 times in 40 days, it needs to be recited 3125 times a day. This is something that would require someone to be doing absolutely nothing but reading this throughout the day for 40 days. |

salam Once you start reading Insha'Allah your speed will increase. I can read 6 times in one minute. You can increase the days if you can't finish in 40 days. |

@ The brother who said the above: Its not about how fast you read, its about how sincerely you read it. @ Sister Rabia, sorry I wasn't able to write it again. What have you or your dad been noticing? What signs lead you to go to an Aalim to find out if it was the effects of Magic? I'll tell you about me, few years ago just before I started to practice more, around 5 years (I was 18 then) I had terrible things happening, I didn't really know at the time what exactly had happened because I had lost it. Yup, I was so effected that I actually was admitted to hospital, my health deteriorated. In the beginning what I saw was piles of dust with nails in them despite having cleaned the area, after a few mintues I would see these piles. I didn't pay much attention then, thought I was probably going a bit topsy with all the stress lol. Then my clothes started to get blood stains all over them despite me washing them over and over again, threw all my clothes bought new ones after a few days same thing; blood stains all over. I started to hear loud thumping sounds and it would get louder, then hear something heavy being dragged on the floor, started to see things, then a worst happened, I tried to kill myself with a knife, with sharp things 4-5 times (this I do not remember AT ALL, I only found out when my parents told me and when I saw my wounds all over my body). My body used to feel sooo heavy as if I was double the size carrying something really heavy specially on my shoulders, back, head. My dad also doesn't believe in magic (I don't know why; he's being influenced by a lot of Wahabis and others. He is the only one in my family who thinks this way), well he does but reckon that it ONLY used to happen in our Aqaa Muhammad Salallahu Alaiyhi Wasalam's times and doesn't not exist anymore, even though he saw the blood stains too, didn't pay attention. So he thought I was probably under some sort of depression which caused me to try and KILL MYSELF?? So he took me to a Psychiatrist, I WAS NORMAL! Anyway I would ran out of my house many times during the night without my headscarf, just running out, then screaming, hearing loud noises, my body would get bruises, really bad ones as if someone had beaten me. I've hit/ pushed my dad when he was trying to stop me from harming myself and when I ran out, and he is a BIG person. My health became really bad (I am a diabetic since 11), all the medication I used to take didn't seem to work. I found loads of taveez various parts of my room. My mum went to an Aalim and to our Peer and found out that 7 people had done it to me out of jealousy (WHAT? ... Again as you said, why would anyone want to do that? Allah ta'ala knows best). So then I was told to recite a number of things for this to go, and I still do pray and still see the effects sometimes, as in I still get bruises and they hurt, the biggest one i got was on my neck as if someone strangled me. Alhumdulillah I am much better now and I'll also share it with you since I believe everyone should recite this anyway as its a Sunnah, our Aqaa Muhammad Salallahu Alaiyhi Wasalam used to recite some too. I will also quote a few other things. At this point I would also like to say that Masha'Allah I practise and even before then I used to, but we must all understand that ONLY by the will of ALLAH can ANYTHING HAPPEN. IF HE WISHES THIS TO AFFECT US THEN SO IT WILL. Nevertheless, if your dad does not believe in it, don't tell him, I never mention the word magic to my dad because I don't want him to get gunnah for saying something he shouldn't, and I be the reason for it too. Also I cannot say that your dad has been effected with the same time of signs so it definitely is, he probably has a mild effect with a few signs, or nothing at all, which you cannot see/feel/hear, but its there. If he really is effected then these things can even know that we talk about them, so if you were to mention it to him, ofcourse he will not listen. I refused to listen too, although I believe in it but at the time I was in that serious phase where all I ever wanted to do was harm myself, kill myself, ran away, YET subhan'Allah Allah ta'ala protected me even then, it that state (specially when I wanted to ran away a few times) I learnt so much of the Qur'an, and now I have continued to do Hifz, Alhumdulillah. I wouldnt talk to no one, I didn't remember no one (this was also the time when my mum took me to an Aalim and our Peer and they gave us Salawaat to recite). Magic does exist and causes harm to people. Our Aqaa Muhammad Salallahu Alaiyhi Wasalam was also afflicted with black magic. A Jew by the name of Labid ibn Asim who outwardly posed to be a believer (munafiq) carried out black magic on Our Aqaa Muhammad Salallahu Alaiyhi Wasalam. He took the hair of the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad Salallahu Alaiyhi Wasalam and made eleven knots and placed it under a rock in a well called Zarwan. The effect of this was that it created uncertainty in the mind of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) as to whether he had done or not done certain things (although this had no effect on his religious and prophetic obligations). At times Aqaa Muhammad Salallahu Alaiyhi Wasalam felt he had accomplished something yet he had not done so and vice versa. The angel Jibraeel informed Muhammad Salallahu Alaiyhi Wasalam as to what had occurred and came down with the two Surahs, namely Surah Falaq and Surah Nas. The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) together with the Companions (Allah be pleased with them all) went to the well and removed the knotted hair. As each verse was recited, the knots untied miraculously. At the eleventh knot, the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) was relieved from the effects of this black magic. (See: Tafisir Ibn Kathir & Ma’arif al-Qur’an). Sayyida A’isha (Radi'Allah ta'ala Anhu) narrates that whenever the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) would become ill, he would recite the Mu’awwizat (Surah Falaq & Surah Nas) and blow over himself. When his illness was aggravated, I used to recite these two Surahs (and blow my breath) over him and make him rub his body with his own hand, for its blessings. (Sahih al-Bukhari, no. 4728) Moreover, the famous Tibi’i Ka’b al-Ahbar (Allah be pleased with him) states: “Had it not been for the phrases that I recite regularly, the Jews would have turned me into a donkey (m: out of black magic). It was said to him: “What are these phrases?” He replied: (Transliteration): “A’uzu bi wajhillah al-Adhim alladhi laysa shay’un a’dhamu minhu wa bi kalimatillah at-tammati allati la yujawizuhunna barrun wa la fajir wa bi asmaillah al-husna kulliha ma alimtu minha wa ma lam a’lam min sharri ma khalaqa wa bara’a wa zara’a.” Translation: “I seek the protection of Allah the Great; He, than whom there is nothing greater. And I seek the protection of the perfect words of Allah which no man, virtuous or evil, can even transcend; and I seek the protection of all the beautiful names of Allah, those of them which I know and those which I do not know, from the evil of everything He (Allah) created, to which He has given existence, and which He has spread (over the earth or universe).” (Recorded by Imam Malik in his al-Muwatta, 2/541, no. 2737) Also, Ajwa kajoor (dates) has been prescribed by our Aqaa Muhammad Salallahu Alaiyhi Wasalam as a remedy for black magic. Amir ibn Sa’d narrates from his father that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said: “He who eats seven Ajwa dates every morning, will not be affected by poison or magic on the day he eats them.” (Sahih al-Bukhari, no. 5130). Also, sister Rabia please do not be too hasty and decide it most definitely is magic, people have also made it a business leading others to believe that they have been effected, but I think you mentioned that it was confirmed? All I would say is that believe in Allah t'ala and recite as much Darood-e-pak as possible. I have seen miracles when continuously sending Darood on our Aqaa Salallahu Alaiyhi Wasalam all night. What I used to (and still do) pray for all this was: - Before going to bed, recite awal (beginning) and akhir (end) Darood-e-Ibrahimi (which is recited in Salaah), Aytal kursi, Astagfirullah 10 times, Surah Naas 3 times, Surah Falak 3 times, Surah Ikhlas 3 times. - Recite, memorise would be even better, Surah Kahf every day atleast once, if you cannot recite or memorise it all, atleast memorise the first 10 and/or last 10 ayaahs of Surah Kahf. Abu al-Darda (Allah be pleased with him) related that the Prophet of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said, 'Whoever commits ten verses from the beginning Surat al-Kahf will be protected from the Dajjal'. [Muslim, Abu Dawud, Nasa'i, and others; the wording is Muslims]. - Read the following 3 times a day in the beginning in one sitting 3 times, meaning 9 times in total, and then as you start to feel/see less things recite it once a day 3 times. Pray every Surah with AAOOZUBILLAH AND BISMILLAH. After reciting all blow on water and drink from it, and on food as well. x1 Surah Fateha x1 Surah Bakarah Ayaahs 1-6 x3 Surah Bakarah Ayaah 102 x1 Surah Bakarah Ayaahs 163-164 x3 Surah Bakarah Ayaahs 255-257 x1 Surah Bakarah Ayaahs 285-286 x1 Surah al Imran Ayaahs 18-19, 26-27 x1 Surah al Araaf Ayaahs 54-56 x3 Surah al Araaf Ayaahs 117-122 x3 Surah Yunus Ayaays 81-82 x7 Surah Taha Ayaah 69 x1 Surah Safat Ayaahs 1-10 x1 Surah Ahqaf Ayaahs 29-32 x3 Surah Rehmaan Ayaahs 33-36 x1 Surah Hashr Ayaahs 21-24 x1 Surah Jinn Ayaahs 1-9 x3 Surah Kaferoon x3 Surah Ikhlas x3 Surah Falak x3 Surah Naas This I don't read anymore since I feel better but I do on Fridays or Thursday nights. I know this is very long, but the benefits are great. I was told by my Peer to recite this also but those days I wasn't able to do it myself so my mum would recite it for me and for our family. Recite Surah Bakarah Ayaah 102, 21 times for 21 days and blow it on water and drink that. Also, everyone should always recite Surah Yaseen atleast once a day. Its the heart of the Qur'an and one should try and memorise it. I hope this can benefit you or others insha'Allah. Please keep me in your Du'aas insha'Allah. Wasalam. |
