If Umar (RA) who was given glad tidings of jannah in this world yet he had a constant worry of dieing as a munafiq, then no matter who you are you cannot become complacent and think jannah is your right. Jannah will only be obtained with the mercy of Allah swt, not through our actions or deeds. Though we should constantly do good deeds in the hope that it will elevate our position in aakhirah. Ameen.
