Default Spiritual Care - Muslim Chaplains catering for all faith members
As salaam alaikum wa rahmatullah,

The NHS requires all Chaplains to be able to cater for the needs of all individuals, regardless of their faith.

How is it possible for one to be a Muslim Chaplain and meet the spiritual requirements of individuals of other faiths without compromising one's deen and without preaching?

It is no different then what the Muslim leaders did when Christians and Jews were under Muslim rule. They ensured, their rights were protected, ensured that they had safe places to worship, and I even heard (not confirmed) funded the building of their churchs and temples. It is possible.

it takes someone open-minded. It takes alot of adab.

As salaam alaikum wa rahmatullah,

I am looking for some help exploring the issue of Muslim Chaplains providing Spiritual Care in a Multi-Faith environment without compromising the obligation of Da'wah and without breaching their contract.

I am looking to find examples from the Sunnah and the Seerah which demonstrate how our beloved prophet (sallallahu 'alahi wa sallam) cared for those who were not Muslims, and did not force the issue of religion (and Da'wah), but how he (sallallahu 'alahi wa sallam) allowed his actions (manner/character) to speak and portray that which he was he was upon (and calling to).

Please help, may Allah reward you.

Is it actually a policy of the job not to give Da'wah? Would this constitue a breach of your contract?

If so, I can see the problem; otherwise, that would be a good occasion to give a lot of Da'wah insha'Allah!
