Default Information about Jinn?
Assalamualaikum brothers and sisters,

I'm really interested in Jinn. I tried doing research on them but I only found vague information like "They were created to worship Allah, most of them are a bad, only a few are good etc".

I'd really like to learn about what sort of lifestyles they live and all the details that help create a picture in our mind about what they're like.

I understand that this subject isn't really going to be any benefit to us, in terms of having a better imam, but regardless, it would definitely satisfy my curiousity.

Please read this post by Qabil e Sadd Ahtiraam o Adab - UmHasan, contact her for more information:

For those interested in the working of Jinnat, there is the book by Imam Suyooti 'Laqtul Marjan fi Akham il Jaan' which mentions many interesting points – the origins of the jins, the types of jins, their abilities, habits, their connections and relationships with humans, the control and manipulation of jins, etc ,etc.

There is also Aakaam ul Marjaan fi Garaib al Akhbar wal Jaan’ by Allamah Qadhi Badruddeen Shayli Hanafi (769 AH) which is a well recognised documentation of all things pertaining to jinnat and their haalat, aadat and history. Allamah Anwar Shah Kashmiri and Mufti Muhammad Shafi also referenced it in their discussion of jinns in their respective writings. Both have been translated into Urdu under new names. These two books are considered authoritive writings in this field.

There are many other books on this topic that will answer many of the questions posed by individuals on this thread and can provide a better understanding of the world of jinns and also dispel a few myths that seems to have been passed around on the abilities of jinns. Also try 'Taarikh jinnat wa Jaadu' in Urdu by Mufti AzizurRahman Bijnori, khalifah of Hadhrat Madni
