Default Talqeen
Assalamoalaykum, Can u (Admin) or anybody please explain Talqeen in the light of Hadith, as much I know about Talqeen is ...Remind the dying person of the Kalima by Reciting
the kalima, Once Kalimah has been recited, remain quiet, Surah Yaseen (Rasool SAW has said “ Read Surah Yaseen over your dying man” (Abu Dawood, Ibn Majah)). As I heard somewhere on FB (Shia's thoughts) that the Talqeen should be read at the grave of the deceased after everyone has left. Talqeen is recited to assist the deceased in the grave. It assists the deceased to answer the questions of the grave when facing Munkar and Nakeer the two Angels of the grave. The Talqeen should be read while sitting beside the grave and facing the direction of the Qibla. Please explain which Talqeen is sunnath which i know already or the other or both???------- Jazakallahkhairah!!

Evidence for Talqeen:

Ma’qil ibn Yasaar (RA) said: The Prophet said: “Recite Yaa Seen for your dying ones.” (Ahmed, Abu Dawood)

Safwaan said: The shaykhs told me that they were present with Ghudayf ibn al-Haarith al-Thumaali (a Sahaabi) when his death throes grew intense. He said: Is there anyone among you who can recite Yaa Seen? Saalih ibn Shurayh al-Sakooni recited it and when he reached the fortieth verse, he passed away. The shaykhs used to say: If it is recited in the presence of the dying person, he finds relief thereby. Safwaan said: ‘Eesa ibn al-Mu’tamari narrated it in the presence of Ma’bad. (Musnad Ahmed)

Some Scholars have declared the first Hadeeth weak while others have Authenticated it.
The Second Athar is Authenticated by Shaykh Al-Hafidh Ibn Hajr Al-Asqalani (RA).

In fact, according to the Maliki and Shafi'i, there is also a talqeen done at the grave, in addition to the one done at the death bed;
There is a detail as to the evidence for it (weak hadith, supported by shawahid); but it's sufficient for one to know that the Ahlusunnah allow it, according to those 2 madhabs. If you see some people do it, do not think they are among the people of bid'a.

May Allah ta'alaa grant us tawfeeq to remember death often, and may He bless us with a successfull ending.
