![]() i was more concerned about the sitting position affecting the validity of my salah? if i get a cramp during prayer isit better to break the salah and redo it once cramp has gone or continue even if i can't sit in the correct position? i drink between 1litre to 1.5litre of water everyday i think i have poor blood circulation to the feet, and possibly to the head also as i get occasional vertigo attacks which have also in the past caused me to break my salah as it was impossible for me to stand in one place I can't sit in certain positions for more than 5-10minutes without my leg becoming numb and my hands and feet are usually cold in comparison to everyone else ![]() what kind of foot exercises will help? i do a bit of brisk walking everyday, i even get cramps in the middle of the night so i have to get up sometimes and walk it off because it doesn't go away otherwise |

Sister,
As I understand it, adjustments you have to make due to your physical condition do not nullify your salat. Sick or disabled Muslims are allowed to modify their movements and postures during the prayer to accommodate their current physical disabilities. But you need to submit yourself to a complete physical exam and a blood work-up--i.e., glucose, thyroid, iron, etc--to determine the cause of your symptoms, in case you have a condition that needs to be treated with medication. Please post a follow-up of your progress. |

You might talk to your doctor about if compression hose might help with your poor blood circulation. Also, vitamin E might help with the cramps. As for the foot exercises: This site provides some good ones: http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/cy...engthening.php Also pointing and flexing. As you point or flex, hold the position. Another fun thing you can do is to draw the alphabet with your foot (only moving the ankle and foot). |

alhamdulillah that your blood tests are clear. My wife has had foot cramps and she finds that taking potassium and calcium alleviates them. They must be taken together because they work together in enabling muscles to tighten and relax. I do hope this helps. In the meantime, remember that your physical limitations do not nullify your salat. |

Assalamualaikum,
Sister Aram: May Allah relieve you of this pain. As far as I know, if there is something that is physically causing pain in Salat (such as your foot), you can make the situation easier (like not press up on your toes while sitting, or sitting in a chair if the need arises). Islam was never meant to be a burden on anyone. We must all remember that. InshAllah, I hope this pain will go away for you InshAllah sister. Assalamualaikum, Haaris |

![]() I have a similar problem and ![]() ![]() I fell from my bike and dislocated my ankle so can't bend the foot properly because it hurts like anything... So I have no choice but to place my feet as "best as I can". For some people, the fitter they get the worst the problem gets because their resting heart-beat slows down thereby making it harder for the blood to reach the edges of extremites. When extremely fit if they sit still for a few minutes and then get up (quickly) they may get dizzy (because the blood doesn't reach the brain fast enough) That's my issue, your issues are probably due to age. ![]() The only "exercise" which you want to try is "Tai Chi" to enhance your circulatory system. |

![]() Joking aside, read this: http://www.sunniforum.com/forum/show...l=1#post620676 It is possible that your water intake isn't right and you may need to drink more water during the way. Hydration will help with your circulation. Check yourself for signs of ketosis. |

i like the sound of water fasting although does taking medication count as eating? im also anaemic so it might not be such a good idea? and if i lost as much as weight as people are claiming can be lost through these fasts i would fall under the underweight category i just googled ketosis, i eat normally alhamdulillah i don't think its that i do sometimes have low bp it could be that i suppose, there isnt much that can be done about that apparently, my doc said you just have to wait until your artieries get all clogged and then ur BP will rise automatically ![]() |

its not age im in my 20's! ![]() I am not recommending water fasting for anyone! I just wanted you to look at Ketosis. 80% of Asian women in UK are anaemic (either before having children or after) and with Anaemia you need to know whether it was set recently OR did you have it for years? Injury, pregnancy, heavy periods, digestive problems will cause the onset of Anaemia and that needs to be countered with "supplements and change of diet". Look at foods with rich iron content. Basically look at your diet and adjust as you see fit. |

![]() ![]() ![]() Regarding water fasting when anaemic- I would suggest juice fasting instead. Instead of eating or drinking during the day, only drink various juices as it is a natural 'cure' for anaemia apparantely. Please see this link: http://www.brighthub.com/health/alte...les/18241.aspx Although it says in the following link that therapeautic fasting may not be reccomended: http://www.diagnose-me.com/cond/C1667.html Ask an expert And Allah ![]() ![]() |
