Instead of reading the Bukhari Shareef, it is better for you to go through the Adab Al Mufrad by Imam Bukhari.
The hadith books are generally specialised books and one read for barakah but unless one is well versed in schiences of the hadith, Quran & fiqh, it should be read under the guidance of a mufti or qualified scholar.

Generally for new muslim
You should have a good book on
1.Tafsir (Anwarul Quran or Mariful Quran)
2.Seerah book
3. Fiqh book for laymen (Behesti Jewar / Havenly ornament). This book can not replace of learning fiqh from a qualified scholar i.e Mufti
4. Adkar and Masoon dua book

If u r allowed to read holy QURAN then why not Hadith book?
